About the Role

The Tariff Maintenance Clerk is responsible for the timely and accurate publication and data entry of tariff and drayage rates into various databases. Tariff Maintenance Clerks are also responsible for freight payables which includes answering all vendor payment inquiries as well as playing a vital role in the vendor payable reconciliation process.

What you'll do:

  • Complete tariff mark-up process: receive a spreadsheet from pricing with information that is used to enter changes in the Tariff Maintenance and Rate Base systems. Recheck team members work.
  • Publish tariff rates, rules and notes for customers.
  • Verify and input drayage costs into the database and provide drayage information to Customer Service on request.
  • Troubleshoot, research and resolve a variety of issues relating to EDI rejections, tariffs, drayage and billing. Follow up to ensure the issues has been resolved.
  • Generate, prepare, and maintain excel-based reports. Conduct light analysis to ensure accuracy and inform decisions.
  • Keep abreast of changes to tariff maintenance processes. Demonstrate a working knowledge of the functions, navigation, and entry of the IS systems used.

  • Function well in a team environment and able to contribute to the harmony of the team.
  • High regard for accuracy and organization. Detail oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly written and email.
  • Solid basic math skills and Excel skills.
  • Able to use time efficiently, maintain productive standards, and possess a solid work ethic.

And these qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Extra credit if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree.
