Job Description

Pay: $20-$25/per hour based on experience

Work Schedule: Tue-Sat 8am-4:30pm, Mandatory OT (On-site)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Tech II, Laundry ensures the Laundry Facility is operating at maximum capacity through the execution of all major and minor repairs and all preventive maintenance while assisting the Maintenance Engineer in maintaining the laundry equipment and premises. The Maintenance Tech II, Laundry ensures and optimizes the operational capacity of the Laundry Facility by performing comprehensive major and minor repairs, conducting preventive maintenance, and supporting the Maintenance Engineer in overseeing laundry equipment and facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Equipment Inspection and Maintenance:



  • The Maintenance Tech II will inspect, maintain, and repair all laundry processing equipment to include but not limited to washers, dryers, bundling, pressing, tying, and folding equipment; boilers and rolling stock. The Maintenance Tech II must communicate continually with the Maintenance Engineer as it relates to maintenance and problems with equipment. The incumbent must also maintain housekeeping and safety standards including the wearing of protective equipment as required and cleaning up area after performing any maintenance. The Maintenance Tech II must also maintain the exterior and interior of the building in a clean and orderly fashion.


Relationship Management:



  • The Maintenance Tech II will keep the Maintenance Engineer informed of progress, considerations, and pertinent information; communicate significant problems to the Engineer with ideas for solving identified problems and deal effective and calmly with non-routine situations following accepted guidelines. In addition, the Maintenance Engineer will participate in team meetings and in-service training sessions and perform other duties as assigned including working as a production worker when all duties are complete or when directed by management.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:



  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.


Experience:



  • The incumbent must have knowledge of laundry mechanical systems, to include troubleshooting malfunctioning laundry equipment in hard-to-access spaces.
  • Must be able to read and understand equipment manuals and schematics.
  • The incumbent must be familiar in the use of diagnostic parts and tools necessary to install, repair or maintain machinery.


Other:



  • Experience or knowledge of basic mechanics required.
  • Experience and basic knowledge of electrical wiring and troubleshooting is required.
  • Experience and knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) a plus.
  • It is preferred that the incumbent have excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate the ability to interact with various types of internal and external customers, including working with persons with disabilities and disadvantaging conditions.
  • The incumbent must have a high degree of maturity, good judgment, responsibility, and initiative, with excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • The incumbent must be neat in appearance with appropriate hygiene, grooming and dress for the job.
  • Overtime is required as needed with the ability to work some weekends and/or holidays.
  • The incumbent must be able to lift, bend, stoop, walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • The incumbent will be required and must have the ability to drive for company business*.


*Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements: For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must be at least:



  • 21 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation),
  • 25 - 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services,
  • 25 years of age for CDL.


Applicants/employee will be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check; applicants/employees must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last five (5) years)(Note: not all violations are a disqualification for employment and each case will be reviewed by the insurance carrier); must have valid Colorado State driver license; must also be able to operate company vehicle, and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation.
