Estimated annual base pay:

  • $25.00- $39.90+ (DOE)

  • Hours: 1st Shift, Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Are you ready to make your mark? If you're CMM Programmer/Metrology Technician 1 (PC-DMIS), we have an exciting opportunity for you.

  • This role is primarily responsible for applying knowledge of PC-DMIS in support of precision measurement, quality control, and metrology activities. The employee will use calibrated instruments to take accurate measurements, maintain and calibrate metrology equipment, record results, and follow quality standards and standard operating procedures. The role also supports CMM operations by programming, troubleshooting, operating, inspecting, and analyzing CMM results using PC-DMIS. In addition, responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, manuals, and technical documents to determine specifications and inspection requirements, communicating technical information to others, and supporting supplier, technology, and early PLC-related activities. The position works with limited supervision and may provide guidance to other team members.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Conduct Measurements: Utilizes calibrated instruments to perform precise measurements following standard operating procedures.

  • Maintain Equipment: Cleans, calibrates, and performs routine maintenance on metrology tools to ensure optimal functionality.

  • Record Data: Accurately documents measurement results and maintains detailed logs in compliance with quality guidelines.

  • Ensure Quality Compliance: Adheres to established quality standards and procedures to maintain measurement integrity and reliability.

  • Collaborate with Team Members: Communicates technical information and measurement findings effectively to support team objectives.

  • Operate and program CMM and other specialized inspection equipment, maintain work instructions, and recommend corrective actions based on inspection results.

  • Analyze blueprints, routings, manuals, and other technical documents to determine inspection requirements, procedures, and measuring instruments.

  • Collect and analyze inspection data, perform first article inspections, and support engineers and suppliers in developing and implementing inspection methods for new products.

  • Team Collaboration: Works collaboratively within the team to achieve common objectives.

  • Problem Identification: Identifies and reports issues using predefined procedures and methods.

  • Attention to Detail: Maintains high accuracy and precision in all tasks to ensure data integrity.

  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T and CMM operations, including setup, programming, and controls, with the ability to apply this knowledge to inspection and communication between Design, Production, and Metrology.

  • Ability to analyze technical documents and handle inspection processes, including part handling, non-conformance procedures, inspection data, first article work, and CMM capability studies or Gage R&R.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills, including the ability to train others, support suppliers and internal customers, and communicate technical information clearly across different audiences.

Successful Candidates Typically Have:

  • 2+ years of Metrology Technician work experience

  • 2+ years of CMM Programming

  • 3+ years of experience working with PC-DMIS software, or equivalent CMM software

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
