What You'll Do



Job Summary:

The Capital Planning & Behavioral Analytics Director is responsible for capital stress testing process and ensuring that all balance sheet modeling, risk measurement, and profitability analytics are grounded in empirically sound. The role will lead the stress testing process, create scenarios, work with strategic planning, set capital goals, direct the capital forecast execution, and edit the annual capital plan. The role will work across all business lines to provide inputs and challenge credit risk, loss model inputs, and risks scenarios. The Director will work closely with regulators and internal team members to manage ongoing reporting to both working and executive committees. This role manage the annual NCUA stress testing process and work closely will all business partners to ensure final submission of the capital plan. Additionally, the role will work closely with ALM and associated stakeholders to ensure consistent application of behavioral and pricing models analytics across ALM, capital stress testing, and profitability frameworks

  • Manage the annual submission process for the NCUA capital plan and templates.
  • Lead and coordinate capital planning deliverables across key stakeholders, including Credit Risk, Finance, Treasury, Lending, Model Risk Management, and Internal Audit.
  • Responsible for the editing of the annual capital plan and template submission to NCUA.
  • Lead the designing of capital planning scenarios for both internal and regulatory purposes and lead the execution of the implementation of scenarios.
  • Lead and develop a small team of analysts responsible for capital monitoring, data analysis, monthly and ad hoc reporting, capital adequacy levels, and execution of capital planning activities.
  • Work closely with ALM and stakeholders to ensure consistent application of institution-specific behavioral models across ALM, capital planning, credit models, and FP&A frameworks.
  • Assist in calibration, validation, and back-testing of behavioral assumptions across interest-rate and funding environments to ensure stability, accuracy, and forward-looking relevance.
  • Establish strong partnerships with all stakeholders of the capital planning process and owners of behavioral assumptions to influence execution strategies related to capital stress testing.
  • Oversee governance of capital stress testing methodologies, assumptions, and documentation to ensure analytical integrity, auditability, and regulator-defensible standards.

  • Oversees a business function at the local or regional level, with broad accountability for operational and strategic outcomes. Responsible for executing strategy and directing operations across multiple teams. Possesses deep expertise in their functional area and a strong understanding of organizational dynamics. May contribute to strategy development and long-term planning for their function.
  • Manages through multiple layers of leadership, typically overseeing Directors and Senior Managers. Sets direction for talent development, succession planning, and organizational culture within their function. Builds strong leadership capability across teams and fosters collaboration and accountability.
  • 4 - 7 Directors, Senior Managers, Managers, Assistant Managers and/or Principal Professionals and below reporting to them.



What You'll Need



Education & Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or business administration
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in stress testing in banking institutions with a mature capital planning process, 4+ years as a People Leader.
  • 5+ years of experience in stress testing modeling, ALM analytics, or balance sheet modeling
  • Experience supporting ALM, liquidity, FTP, capital planning, credit, and FP&A frameworks
  • Strong experience with calibration, validation, and back-testing of modeling assumptions
  • Experience with ALM platforms (e.g., ZM, QRM, Empyrean)
  • Strong communication, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills


Qualifications & Skills:



  • Experience with capital stress testing, credit risk, loan review, and ALM systems.
  • Experience creating, preparing, and presenting material for regulators, executive management, or audit.
  • Experience with financial statements, capital frameworks, RWA, capital ratios, and regulatory templates
  • Experience writing model documentation, stress testing methodologies, and contributions to annual capital plans

Expected Pay Range



$184,000 - $220,500 annually
