Overview BRPH is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Architect with a strong focus on aerospace facility design. This individual will design and lead teams specializing in aerospace facilities, operations and infrastructure - especially aerospace manufacturing, payload processing, servicing and/or delivery. This role demands a deep understanding of hazard mitigation, safety, clean rooms, secure separations with familiarity with ICD-705 preferred. Job Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of aerospace projects, ensuring alignment with client vision and market trends.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams - including construction partners - to create innovative design solutions.
- Conduct site analyses and feasibility studies to inform project development and design strategies.
- Oversee the preparation of architectural drawings, exhibits, and specifications.
- Mentor junior architects and designers, fostering a collaborative and creative team environment.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively to meet client expectations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to enhance design processes and outcomes.
- Make decisions independently on architectural problems and methods and represent the company by resolving important questions concerning the work.
- Coordinate with and help resolve conflicts with other disciplines based on an advanced understanding of the design process.
- Proven experience involving Project Programming and Design.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Assignments may include managerial tasks of both project and personnel nature.
- Has working knowledge of Revit to facilitate production of drawings.
- Has advanced understanding of codes and standards and has ability to research code issues, present interpretation, and properly apply to projects for compliance - including preparation of Life Safety Plans.
- Has an advanced understanding of constructability, construction techniques, and different project delivery methods.
- Visit construction site to review, monitor, and report progress and perform other construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, attend construction site meetings, review RFI's, prepare ASI's, and prepare status reports per the contract documents.
- Assist in preparing design budgets, marketing proposals and cost estimates.
- Promote strong communication, cooperation and quality among staff.
- Promote and represent the firm in a professional manner.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Project, Navisworks or BIM 360, Newforma, BlueBeam, and Word.
- Knowledge of sustainable/green strategies.
- Responsible for job specific standards, practices and quality as defined in BRPH Quality Standards.
- Prepare forecast of workload and resources for assigned projects and/or department.
- Monitors project budgets and coordinate with the PM regarding adjustments to the work to maintain profitability.
- Responsible for meeting project schedules, timely completion and quality of assigned projects.
- Deliver minimum of one technical training session to staff per year in each office.
- May serve as a project manager or project architect on assigned projects. Must be prepared to sign and seal documents as AOR.
- Develop proposals, assist in marketing, and lead business development in the market.
- Be active in local, state and/or national professional organizations.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in architecture from an accredited four-year college or university
- Ten years of experience as an architect and five years of experience in aerospace facility design
- Must have experience in managing midsize to large projects with high technical complexity
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Must be licensed Architect in Florida or have ability to obtain registration.
