NASCAR is seeking an experienced Remote Broadcast Engineer to help deliver the live broadcasts that connect millions of fans to NASCAR events across the country. This role is responsible for deploying, configuring, testing, and maintaining mission-critical broadcast, transmission, audio, video, and network systems that support live and recorded event coverage.

The Remote Broadcast Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring reliable transmission paths, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and supporting seamless remote production operations. Working closely with broadcast partners, production teams, and vendors, this position helps drive technical excellence, operational efficiency, and exceptional viewing experiences for fans. This position is based remotely and requires extensive travel to race events and production locations.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the setup, configuration, testing, and operation of broadcast transmission systems that support live and recorded NASCAR event coverage from remote production locations.
  • Manage and validate critical audio, video, and data transmission paths between race venues, production facilities, and broadcast partners to ensure reliable, uninterrupted event delivery.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex broadcast engineering, transmission, networking, and equipment issues in high-pressure live production environments.
  • Configure, maintain, and support broadcast infrastructure, including intercom systems, video and audio routers, Tally/GPI systems, and DANTE audio networks to ensure seamless production workflows.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and performance of remote broadcast equipment, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to maximize system reliability and operational readiness.
  • Support redundancy and disaster recovery processes, including the management and verification of backup transmission and ASI signal pathways to ensure continuity of live broadcasts.
  • Partner closely with production teams, broadcast networks, technology vendors, and event stakeholders to acquire, route, distribute, and optimize audio, video, and data feeds for race coverage.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating workflows, identifying efficiencies, and implementing best practices that enhance broadcast operations and live event production.
  • Travel extensively to race venues and event locations to support remote production operations, including weekends and other event-driven schedules. Up to 90% during race season, including weekends.

What You'll Bring

  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • Minimum of six (6) years' experience and/or training in Broadcast Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Mobile production truck experience preferred.
  • Proficient on Company-provided hardware and software. Specific knowledge of RTS Intercom systems software, Evertz/Grass Valley or similar HD Video and audio routers configuration, knowledge of Grass Valley production switchers, Calrec audio.
  • Understanding of how IT interacts with broadcast areas and the ability to work thru basic system issues.
  • Knowledge of broadcast equipment such as scopes, routers, camera systems, Multi-Viewer monitor systems, EVS, etc.
  • Strong IT base as it relates to the media broadcast world.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision
