Join our dynamic Chromalloy team as the EHS Manager for our Tampa Castings and make a significant impact on our organization's safety culture. In this role, you will play a crucial role in coaching site operations leaders and driving the implementation of policies, procedures, and programs to enhance employee safe behaviors and eliminate hazards/unsafe conditions. Your expertise and leadership will shape a culture of environmental, health and safety excellence throughout our organization.



The EHS Manager reports directly to the multi-site Sr. EHS Manager. This is an on-site role, with core operating hours Monday-Friday and the flexibility to respond during second and weekend shifts.



Responsibilities:




  • Lead and drive the implementation and ongoing compliance of our Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Management System.
  • Improve and standardize/combine EHS programs, including replicating best practices and lessons learned, across the two facilities.
  • Facilitate, conduct, and advise on EHS training initiatives, including the development of effective training materials.
  • Take charge of investigating all high-risk actual/potential incidents and oversee the root cause and corrective action processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state and local EHS legal and regulatory requirements, as well as any company-specific standards that surpass regulatory mandates.
  • Manage the sites' environmental programs, including permits, waste management, SPCC/emergency response, regulatory reports, inspections, and more.
  • Support environmental sustainability baselining and improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the technical expert and champion the implementation of our corporate EHS software systems, supporting compliance activities, tracking and reporting EHS performance metrics, and managing the action tracking process.
  • Work with the Site Leads to develop annual EHS plans, objectives, and targets, and supports monthly reporting of performance.
  • Work closely with engineering to ensure that the safety of employees and the protection of company property are integral parts of the planning, designing and construction of facilities or modifications to facilities or processes.
  • Work with supervisors and department managers to complete job/task risk assessments, both qualitative and quantitative, and develop solutions to minimize risk(s).


  • Provide support for medical and industrial hygiene programs, collaborating closely with Human Resources and Operations teams on pre-employment fitness for duty and return-to-work evaluations.
  • Work closely with the risk management and external insurance firms to report and proactively identify and address worker's compensation and loss prevention issues, ensuring the implementation of recommendations from site assessments.
  • Supervise and coach full-time EHS specialists and technicians supporting management of site EHS requirements, work closely with wastewater and hazardous waste technicians, and facilitate the sites' EHS Committees.
  • Supervise EHS consultants and contractors hired for specialized services such as industrial hygiene testing, fit testing, ventilation systems design/testing, sample collection, and other EHS-related activities; and support the site's contractor safety program.



Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications are a plus.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience and expertise in implementing and maintaining EHS management systems, with prior experience in a manufacturing, forging, castings, or machining operation(s).
  • Experience leading teams and direct reports.
  • Proven ability to lead incident investigations and drive the root cause analysis process.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable EHS legal and regulatory requirements, and experience exceeding compliance standards.


    • Florida specific regulatory experience preferred.


  • Familiarity with EHS software systems and proficiency in leveraging technology for compliance tracking, reporting, and data analysis/visualization.
  • Familiarity with EHS pollution control equipment, including air scrubbers and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Strong understanding of medical and industrial hygiene programs, including fitness for duty and return-to-work evaluations.

The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
