The Department of Pharmaceutical Services provides a full range of services for patients cared for by the Medical Center at UCSF and its providers and payors. These services include, but are not limited to: drug procurement, storage, and security; safe, accurate and timely preparation and distribution of drugs; clinical pharmacy services for patients; development of drug use policies within the Medical Center; drug information services for clinicians and patients; and participation in technology assessment and quality assurance programs. The Department of Pharmaceutical Services is affiliated with the UCSF Department of Clinical Pharmacy, an academic department within the School of Pharmacy, which has primary responsibility for teaching professional courses in the Pharm.D. curriculum, clinical research, and public and clinical service. Under the Department of Pharmaceutical Services, the Data Science and Analytics Pharmacist is involved in all aspects of the medication use process at all pharmacy locations within the UCSF Health System. They may also be asked to participate in pharmaceutical care in other sectors of the Department of Pharmaceutical Services as needed. The Data Science and Analytics Pharmacist applies advanced professional clinical informatics concepts and extensive knowledge of medication-use systems and technology to projects of all levels of scope and complexity. Additional functions include but are not limited to: leading and supporting pharmacy services initiatives and practice as a pharmacy informatics subject matter expert, responding to intra-departmental analytics requests, designing data visualization tools for departmental utilization, and developing necessary reports and data files to support the pharmacy department. The Data Science and Analytics Pharmacist will work with all departments of pharmacy to support the integration of pharmacy systems with internal and/or external applications and systems. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
