Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.


Responsibilities

Location: Wichita, KS

Position Responsibilities:

To maintain, operate, repair, build and rebuild plant infrastructure and systems pertaining to it. To assist all other crafts in the maintenance and construction of plant equipment within the Spirit Wichita facility. By means of, including, but not limited to painting, carpentry, general labor, plumbing, HVAC/R, pipe fitting, tinning, welding, millwright work, operation of boilers and compressed air systems, operation of waste water systems, operation of process water systems, within the individual's skill set and/or with proper training.

  • Perform such tasks including, but not limited to, retrieval and delivery of tools and equipment when and where needed as instructed by higher level employees and or management.
  • Work with and assist higher graded employees, independently perform general building maintenance tasks and functions including, but not limited to painting, grounds keeping, housekeeping, fencing, installing signs, floor/wall/ceiling repairs, general laborer activity, hand excavating, and installation of minor assets.
  • Perform work in an efficient manner as assigned. Train in new methods and advanced technologies as determined necessary and provided by the company.
  • Enter and retrieve data from the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and allocate parts from the parts crib.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment including motorized vehicles for operational use and delivery of small parts. (motorized equipment must be limited to 8,000 lbs).
  • Perform such tasks not requiring licenses or certificates as required by state and federal codes and regulations within the geographical area, as instructed by higher level employees and or management.
  • Communicate activity across all shifts.
  • Perform such tasks without instruction such as, preparation and cleaning of areas and equipment before and after use.
  • Have the ability to perform physical work.
  • Keep all work areas, shops and equipment clean and organized.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Level 2 or higher waste water certification.
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Have some mechanical or construction experience and/or demonstration of the ability to perform such tasks.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $25.09 hour, with potential to earn up to $43.13 hour in accordance with the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement.
