Job Description

As a member of the Production Team, the Production Specialist will be responsible for Plans and directs work activities of Hourly Production Employees by performing the following duties. The Team Coach/Trainer is part of the Production Department and reports to the Plant Superintendent on the applicable shift.

Responsibilities

Your work will include, but not be limited to:



  • Supervision and coordination of work activities of hourly production employees.
  • Provide feedback regarding daily defects to management personnel and production employees.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations.
  • Establish or adjust manpower to meet production schedules.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems and/or assist employees in solving work problems.
  • Administer disciplinary action as needed.
  • Maintain timekeeping and production records.
  • Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and problem resolution/general maintenance of machinery.
  • Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Recommend measures to improve efficiency as it relates to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals.
  • Conduct meeting to resolve grievances or refer unresolved grievances to next step.
  • Assure adherence to the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Responsible for housekeeping of area.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Actively participate in self-directed work team model.
  • Participate in plant recycling programs.
  • Follow ISO14001 and IATF16949 procedures/processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Contribute to the achievement of quality/management objectives by producing product to meet customer needs and expectations.

Preferred Requirements

  • Associate degree (AA/AS); two years related experience and/or training
  • At least 1-2 years of manufacturing environment experience
