Position Overview
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the manufacturing, assembly, packaging, and preparation of medical device products in accordance with established quality and safety standards. This entry-level role supports production operations by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Manufacturing Technicians may work in clean room environments and will operate production equipment, perform assembly and packaging tasks, maintain cleanliness standards, and contribute to efficient manufacturing operations while ensuring product quality and compliance.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform manufacturing and assembly line functions including washing components and equipment
- Wrap components and equipment for sterilization processes
- Assemble, glue, package, seal, label, and prepare medical devices for sterilization and shipment
- Operate general production equipment including sealers, autoclaves, stir plates, and related manufacturing equipment
- Maintain production areas in compliance with GMP cleanliness standards through daily cleaning activities
- Receive, distribute, and organize supplies within the production area as needed
- Follow all SOPs, GDP, cGMP, and quality assurance procedures during manufacturing activities
- Adhere to all environmental health and safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times
- Complete required training programs in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate documentation related to manufacturing and production activities
- Support rotating job assignments and additional production duties as assigned
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
Job Requirements
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prior manufacturing experience preferred but not required for this entry-level position
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal safety and quality instructions
- Basic English written and verbal communication skills required
- Ability to read and comprehend written work instructions and technical drawings
- Basic mathematical skills required
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment
- Ability to work in clean room environments while wearing required PPE including scrubs, gloves, masks, hoods, hair coverings, and safety glasses
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per shift with scheduled breaks
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds individually and up to 65 pounds as part of a team lift
- Ability to perform repetitive hand motions and frequent fine hand coordination tasks
- Ability to push and pull carts containing products or solution containers as needed
- Vision requirement of 20/25 with or without corrective lenses
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
Work Experience
- Previous manufacturing, assembly, packaging, or clean room experience preferred
- Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments is a plus
Additional Job Details (Commute, Attendance, etc.)
- Position may require work in a clean room environment with specialized garments and PPE
- Overtime may be required based on production needs
- Some duties may rotate between workstations and production functions
