Your role

The Product Specialist serves as a critical extension of the Product Marketing function, supporting Atlas Copco's newest control system solutions through ownership of key operational, technical, and commercial activities. This role enhances scalability, reduces time-to-market, and improves responsiveness to regional sales teams and customers. Fluency in Spanish and the ability to support markets across the Americas are essential, enabling stronger engagement with regional stakeholders and ensuring effective communication in diverse customer environments. Operating under the direction of the Product Marketing Manager (PMM) for Controls, this role enables a shift toward higher-value strategic focus while ensuring consistent execution and technical excellence

Main Responsibilities:

Technical Product Ownership

* Develop and maintain technical expertise across Atlas Copco Central Controllers, Extender+ and Connectivity devices

* Serve as the subject matter expert for internal stakeholders

* Support product selection, sizing, and application guidance

* Assist with resolution of technical escalations.

Commercial & Sales Enablement

* Support RFQs and CPQ configurations

* Develop tools, documentation, and selection guides

* Deliver product training for sales teams

* Align with regional teams on product positioning

* Provide regional support in the Americas (North & South America) for the Extender+

Product Lifecycle & Operational Support

* Support product launches and phase-outs

* Maintain product data accuracy in systems

* Assist with pricing execution

Market & Customer Insights

* Collect and communicate field feedback

* Support competitive analysis

* Identify product gaps and improvement opportunities

* Assist Sales Teams explaining the product functionality and capabilities to Customers and System Integrators

Advanced Technical Responsibilities

* Develop expertise in gas purity control for nitrogen/oxygen generators, enabling optimized purity levels and reduced energy consumption

* Understand adsorption and refrigerant dryer dewpoint control, including sequencing, isolation, purge reduction, leak minimization, and dewpoint protection

* Support optimization of compressor rooms and utilities: pumps, chillers, cooling towers, fans, and heat recovery systems

* Conduct data analysis (pressure, flow, dewpoint, purity, thermal load, leak rates) to support customer recommendations

* Assist engineering teams in refining control algorithms for energy efficiency and equipment lifetime extension

* Support Customers and Sales Teams developing a list of required instrumentation and control logic on a project-by-project basis

* If required, align with Technical Support on the product capabilities and training needs for Field Service Technicians

System Integration & Automation

* Provide guidance on system integration across compressors, dryers, generators, and utilities using centralized controllers and Extender+

* Support field teams with control-loop diagnostics, redundancy logic, sensor calibration, and communication protocol troubleshooting

* Validate control sequences for new firmware releases and document functional behavior for internal teams

Training, Documentation & Cross-Functional Support

* Develop advanced training content covering system architecture, optimization strategies, and installation best practices

* Create technical guides for system configuration, networking, and commissioning procedures

* Collaborate with engineering on product enhancement roadmaps informed by field data.


To succeed, you will need

Experience

A minimum of 3 years' experience in engineering, inside sales support or an equivalent field.

Education

4-year bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

Must be very detail orientated with a desire to continually develop skills and knowledge. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills in order to work cooperatively with a team. A self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to self-manage their time and priorities would be ideal for this role.

Job location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Rock Hill, SC office.

Travel

* Up to 50% of the time

* Must have active passport and be willing to travel internationally (The Americas)
