HDR is seeking a Coastal Engineering Project Manager to join our nationally ranked team of coastal professionals across the United States. We are looking for a proven leader with strong technical expertise and project management experience to help deliver innovative solutions for coastal resilience, restoration, and navigation infrastructure.

About the Role

In this role, you will lead the planning, analysis, design, and delivery of coastal engineering and channel development projects, including sea level rise infrastructure assessments, coastal restoration, shoreline protection, and navigation improvements. You'll also play a key role in client engagement and business development, helping expand HDR's coastal presence nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate single- and multidisciplinary teams throughout the full project lifecycle (initiation through close-out)
  • Manage complex small- to medium-sized projects, or serve as a key leader on larger efforts
  • Oversee multiple projects concurrently, ensuring successful delivery on schedule, budget, and quality
  • Perform and oversee analysis and design for:
    • Coastal restoration projects
    • Beach nourishment projects
    • Shoreline protection systems (revetments, living shorelines)
    • Sea level rise and resilience assessments
    • Navigation and dredging projects (marinas, harbors, channels)
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, participating in marketing and business development efforts
  • Lead or support:
    • Proposal development
    • Scope definition
    • Fee and cost estimates
  • Facilitate design workshops and coordination meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Plan and manage staffing and workload across the project lifecycle
  • Track and manage project financials, adjusting resources to meet budget and schedule targets
  • Partner with accounting, operations, and business leadership on project performance reviews
  • Ensure adherence to and implementation of QA/QC procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Coastal, Ocean, or Civil engineering preferred
  • PMP certification
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 7 years related experience inclusive of a minimum 2 years experience in project management
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • MS Office and MS Project experience is required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position is $104,832 - $199,680 depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
