Job Description

We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our transportation team in New Salem, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport goods across various routes while maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service. You will play a critical part in ensuring timely and secure delivery of cargo while upholding all regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and DOT regulations
  • Plan and execute optimal routes to meet delivery schedules and minimize fuel consumption
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify maintenance issues and ensure roadworthiness
  • Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery records, and documentation in compliance with federal regulations
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and management regarding delivery status and any issues encountered
  • Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring proper weight distribution and cargo security
  • Maintain a clean driving record and demonstrate responsible behavior on and off the road
  • Respond promptly to roadside emergencies and follow proper safety protocols
  • Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks such as checking tire pressure, fluid levels, and brake systems
Qualifications
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle class being operated
  • Current DOT medical certification
  • Clean driving record with no major violations in the past three to five years
  • Minimum of two years of commercial truck driving experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and DOT compliance requirements
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to read maps and use GPS navigation systems effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical capability to perform loading, unloading, and vehicle maintenance tasks
  • Proficiency in basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Ability to work independently and manage long hours on the road
  • Preferred: Experience with hazardous materials (HAZMAT) certification or specialized cargo handling
  • Preferred: Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and fleet management systems
