Purpose

The Continuous Improvement Specialist leads the execution of Continuous Improvement initiatives of low complexity within a site/function in order to embed best practices, reinforce a continuous improvement mindset, and streamline non-value-added activities.

The Continuous Improvement Specialist reports to the Site Continuous Improvement Manager or the Continuous Improvement Senior Manager.

Salary Range Based on Experience $68,500 - $97,000.

Main Responsibilities

Business Understanding

  • Contribute to the design of Site/Department strategies and deployment plans

  • Identify and measure improvement opportunities; develop action plans.

People Engagement

  • Support in deploying CI Awareness workshops to all teams (e.g., CI basics training)

  • Ensure everyone to share Good Practices (e.g., through, newsletter)

  • Introduce and coach VPMS as a universal practice for everyone in the organization to manage daily performance

Capability Building

  • Develop people by delivering mentoring for basic CI Methodologies

  • Training includes CI Basics (5S, 8Wastes, Problem Solving), Yellow, Visual Performance Management, CI Maturity Assessment.

Problem Solving

  • Support team to identify problems that must be solved using the right CI Methodology and Tools

Performance Management

  • Set up and help implement daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly performance management reviews at shift, department and site level including the definition of lagging and leading indicators

Continuous Improvement Maturity Assessment (CIMA)

  • Support the CI Manager / Lead / Site or Department to prepare the CIMA Assessment and follow up with the teams based on CIMA outcome

Process Efficiency

  • Train teams in applying relevant CI tools and methodologies for improving Processes and Asset Efficiencies

Work Standard

  • Support process owners on the development of CI-related work standards

Growth

  • Lead specific business improvement projects

  • Coach project teams on applying Lean and Six Sigma tools during project execution phases.

  • Improve implementation progress of assigned CI projects, monitoring resource plans, project team accountabilities, change requests, deadlines, milestones, change management roadmaps, communications, and manage periodic updates

Academic Background

  • University degree

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent is an advantage

Professional Experience

  • Overall work experience 2-4 y work experience, 1 to 2 y preferably in CI

  • Results on leading improvement projects and training.

  • Exposure to teams and projects.

Technical Skills

Language requirements

  • Good command of both oral and written English

  • Local Language Requirement based on the Site
