The Finishing and Logistics Manager will complete and oversee plant level activities within incoming unit evaluation, unit prep/paint/dress-out (referred to as "finishing"), final QC, and logistics coordination, which includes local driver supervision and 3rd party setup for inbound and outbound logistics. This position will also be responsible for local administrative activities and support requirements as requested through corporate Scheduling, Finance, Procurement, and Commercial teams. Additionally, the Finishing and Logistics manager will be required to participate in site-wide Kaizen and Gemba events as part of the team driving overall performance. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards, and company policies are essential functions of this role. This is a local position but may require up to 10% travel to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of the role with other Sunbelt Solomon production locations.
- Collaborates with Service Center Manager to set daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicate these to employees.
- Responsible for assigned cost centers and processes of finishing and logistics, as well as tracking and reporting out on production metrics to Service Center Manager.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with all departments within the organization to ensure production transitions between department groups are effective.
- Supervise employees in unit evaluation, finishing, final QC, and logistics, ensuring work is completed and aligned with production schedules. Responsible for local scheduling requirements, local AP/AR requirements, procurement requirements, and PCB sample coordination as needed.
- Analyze data and reports to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to improve safety and quality, increase efficiency, reduce costs, and achieve delivery requirements.
- Evaluate employee performance, provide feedback, and implement necessary corrective actions. Track employee absenteeism and timekeeping.
- Responsible for employee hiring, termination and creating a business case analysis for increase in staff support in departments
- Identify and execute continuous improvement projects ranging from work cell layout, standard work, process improvement, and 5S to improve overall operational efficiency in all areas of responsibility.
- Enforces strict safety guidelines and ensures environmental compliance is being adhered to.
- Ensure employees complete the required safety and compliance training by scheduled due dates.
- Manage supplier, customer, and driver communications as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring organizational business updates are effectively communicated in a timely fashion to employees.
- Use information system(s) to track transport needs and schedule shipments.
- Use orders to build routes that are cost effective, minimizing empty miles while meeting customer timelines.
- Schedule drivers, 3PL, LTL, and equipment to transport loads on time.
- Provide information and documentation needed by drivers, customers, receiving, and others.
- Monitor progress for scheduled pickups and deliveries, look to proactively resolve issues with any foreseeable delays and address issues as they arise.
- Assist accounting department with end-of-month processes in relation to logistics expenditures, procurement, and scheduling.

- High School or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree or Vocational/Trade school preferred.
- 3+ years of manufacturing management experience preferred.
- 1-3 years of dispatching and logistics experience required.
- Previous experience completing NAFTA forms and schedule B#'s, preferred
- Knowledge of transportation industry process and procedures required.
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
- OSHA10 certified preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
- A proven track record in safety excellence is required.
- Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notifies management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
- Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
