Overview

The Associate, HR Resource Planning, will be responsible for assisting with the payment of invoices for all employee benefit plans including the funding of various accounts for the payment of claims. This role is responsible for ensuring all payments are accurate and timely. The role requires the individual to generate self-billing reports for some of the monthly payments. In addition, the Associate will assist in developing and tracking the annual corporate benefits budgets, as well as the departmental and capital budgets including the creation of presentations and other required materials. This position will also take on additional tasks assigned by the Section Manager, HR Resource Planning.

This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Assist with processing weekly and monthly invoice payments in Oracle for various benefit plans.
  • Assist with processing periodic funding requests and invoice payments using the trustees online system.
  • Assist with working with vendors to establish/update accounts in Oracle.
  • Assist with and generate accurate self-billing reports for various benefit plans.
  • Analyze and review processes to ensure they are performed in accordance with approved General Accounting Procedures (GAP) and Corporate Instructions.
  • Help support and coordinate any auditing inquiries from internal and external auditors related to payments.
  • Assist with monthly and year-end closing, accruals and requisition/receipts processing as necessary.
  • Participate in projects such as Open Enrollment and annual corporate benefits budgets, departmental and capital budgets reviewing materials, peer checking data, etc.
  • Ability to extract data from Oracle and extensive Excel skills for analyzing and summarizing data.
  • Ensure all PII related information are fully secured, safely locked and filed away.
  • Other related task as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and Minimum one year including cumulative work or equivalent internship/co-op experience OR Six months of Con Edison co-op or internship experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, HR, Engineering or related field
Relevant Work Experience
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills to manage a variety of tasks and meet deadlines, required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc. At least two years of experience utilizing these programs is required.
  • Familiarity of Excel skills including pivot tables, V-lookup, required.
  • Experience with a focus in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, HR or Engineering and other business related majors/field, preferred.
  • Proficiency in Oracle EBS - any experience utilizing Oracle EBS or an ERP system, preferred.

Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
