Summary:

The system healthcare Director of Partnership and Community Support provide leadership and direction for the organization's initiatives focused on improving health outcomes in rural areas and among special populations. DirectsUNC Health's community initiatives focused on mental health, maternalhealth,aging, oncology andpathway programs that connect students from rural communities to healthcare professions. This role plays a critical part in improving health outcomes and fostering positive relationships between the healthcare system, school of medicine and the community.

Responsibilities include organizing, managing, and evaluating system-wide community-based programs and research projects in partnership with the UNC School of Medicine. Collaborates closely with faculty and UNC Health system leaders to assess needs and design programs to address current and projected challenges. Leads program management staff responsible for community engagement, research data collection and program evaluation.

This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with an anticipated expectation of three (3) onsite days and two (2) remote days per week.

Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement targeted programs and interventions to address the unique healthcare needs of rural communities and special populations. Develop and lead the implementation of comprehensive community engagement strategies.
2. Lead a team of professionals to ensure effective program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
3. Establish partnerships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and advocacy groups to promote access to quality healthcare services for special populations.
4. Conduct data analysis and research to identify health disparities and inform evidence-based strategies for improving health outcomes in rural and underserved areas.
5. Lead engagement efforts to raise awareness and address issues impacting the well-being of communities across the UNC Health footprint. Design and oversee comprehensive healthcare programs tailored to meet the specific needs of rural communities.
6. Establish partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, government agencies, and advocacy groups to enhance access to quality care and services.
7. Lead multidisciplinary teams in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes and reducing disparities.
8. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to program effectiveness, patient outcomes, and community impact, and use data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement. Evaluate the impact and effectiveness of community engagement efforts.
9. Oversee the planning and execution of community events and initiatives.

Education Requirements:
* Bachelors degree in public health, healthcare administration, research or related field.
* Master's degree preferred
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* No licensure required
Professional Experience Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in community based participatory research, community engagement, community/civic outreach, community organizing or public relations required; with a minimum of 3 years of management experience.
* 2 years of experience in a healthcare and/or community setting preferred
* Proven experience in developing and implementing healthcare research programs for special populations and rural communities.
* Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with a commitment to health equity.
* Knowledge of healthcare policies and regulations impacting population health.
* Demonstrated experience in developing and managing healthcare programs for rural and underserved populations.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
* Strong understanding of health disparities, social drivers of health, and cultural sensitivity in healthcare delivery.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and build effective partnerships.
* Proficiency in data analysis, program evaluation, and strategic planning to achieve measurable outcomes and impact.
* Knowledge of special populations' healthcare needs and access barriers
* Strategic planning and program development skills to address healthcare gaps in rural and special populations areas.
* Ability to lead and motivate teams to deliver high-quality healthcare services.
* In-depth knowledge of research methodology, human subjects, data analysis .
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Ability to develop and execute comprehensive community engagement plans.
* Proficiency in data analysis and program evaluation
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
* Understanding the impact of social determinants of health and other complex related topics
* Independent and strategic thinking
* Strong interpersonal skills
