The Radiologist Services Coordinator plays a critical role in overseeing the daily clinical and operational workflow of the radiologist group. This position is responsible for coordinating radiologist schedules, owning Springfield Clinic resident-related processes, and serving as a key operational partner to radiologists, residents, and clinical leadership. The role requires a strong understanding of radiology clinical workflows, including the procedures and exams performed and interpreted, and the systems used to support care delivery. This individual will coordinate provider workflow efficiency, ensure accurate scheduling and coverage, partner on clinical addendums, manage provider bucket / patient cases in Athena, and collaborate on several other key areas of daily radiology operations. Job Relationships Reports to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging Principal Responsibilities
- Create/maintain the provider's schedule and coordinate coverage to ensure all shifts are staffed/appropriate coverage.
- Work with Program Coordinator at HSHS for coordinating resident activities, including scheduling, rotations, and administrative support
- Oversee daily radiology operations by addressing workflow issues, coverage gaps, and schedule changes
- Maintain working knowledge of radiology exams, procedures, and interpretation workflows
- Advise on clinical addendums to support timely and accurate documentation
- Manage provider buckets in Athena to ensure efficient case routing and workflow optimization
- Serve as a liaison between radiologists, residents, technologists, and operational partners
- Partner on onboarding, coverage planning, and other operational initiatives as needed
- Maintain the CME's for the radiologist group. Help with credentialing/renewing of license each year as needed.
- Deliver metrics and reporting needs, daily, weekly, monthly
- Adhere to and reinforce appropriate workflow processes. Report any workflow problems/complaints to the Director
- Review, manage, and respond to patient cases in Athena specific to Radiologist department.
- Manage patient billing questions.
- Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
- Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
- Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or healthcare related field preferred.
- Minimum of two to five (2 to 5) years clinical or medical practice management/demonstrated leadership experience.
Licenses/Certificates
- Requires one (1) of the following: RDMS; ARRT(MRI); ARRT(CT) and IEMA; CNMT (NMTCB), PET (NMTCB), and IEMA; or CNMT (NMTCB) and IEMA
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to present oneself and one's ideas with clarity, confidence and pride.
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, practice management systems, business management tools, budgeting and project leadership/management.
- Strong analytical abilities, strong communicator and able to work with little or no supervision in order to carry out the practice goals and objectives.
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows in a radiology or imaging environment
- Experience supporting provider scheduling and daily clinical operations
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems; Athena experience strongly preferred
- Prior experience supporting radiologists, residents, or physician groups in a healthcare setting preferred
- Knowledge of radiology modalities, exams, and procedural workflows
