Job Summary This position will assist the Administration of Justice Studies and Paralegal Faculty Chair with the management and delivery of courses and department processes focusing on the bachelor's degree in Public Safety Administration. Works in a highly collaborative and highly engaged environment. Collaborates with Administration of Justice Studies and Paralegal adjunct faculty, Educational Service Partner (ESP) instructors located at Valley police academies and law enforcement agencies, Dual Enrollment instructors, and public safety partners to ensure MCCCD competencies align with industry needs. Mentors, trains, and evaluates Adjunct Faculty to promote student success. Engages in outreach and recruitment, and uses data to monitor and improve engagement, persistence and retention. Essential Functions 30% - Serves as point of contact for adjunct faculty and students in the Administration of Justice Studies/Public Safety Administration/Paralegal department for curriculum questions and course issues 30% - Serves as liaison between public safety (police, fire, corrections/detention, emergency medical services) partners and the college by maintaining regular communication with the public safety training coordinators, attending stakeholder meetings, promoting class offerings, scheduling advanced officer training (AOT), and coordinating annual public safety advisory committees. 15% - Works closely with faculty, educational service partnership (ESP) team, and others on initiatives, program changes, public safety degree promotion, and other projects. 15% - Oversees the work of content specialists in course development of criminal justice courses to ensure content and assessments are aligned and meet program learning outcomes. 10% - Assists the faculty chair with onboarding and evaluations of criminal justice adjunct, ESP, and dual enrollment instructors. Performs other related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, organizational development or directly related field and two years of related experience such as providing advanced program coordination and consultation that includes one or more of the following: planning, development, and/or implementing program projects and activities in area of assignment. A Master's Degree may be required for some assignments. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications A. Meets MCCCD academic teaching requirements in one of the disciplines serving Rio Salado College's Administration of Justice Studies (Criminal Justice, Paralegal, Legal Studies, Public Safety Administration, etc) area B. Experience teaching college-level online classes C. Experience working with educational service partners and dual enrollment programs D. Experience working within Public Safety programs (Law Enforcement, Corrections, Detention, Fire Science or Paralegal) E. Experience in the design, development, evaluation, and revision of online instructional material and assessments for the department F. Experience training, mentoring, and evaluating staff including designing appropriate staff development activities G Experience working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. H. Effective written communication skills (Application materials will be reviewed in this area) I. One (1) year of full-time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two (2) years. Special Working Conditions Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense. Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations. May require numerous evenings or weekends. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen. May be required to lift or carry up to #25 lbs.
