PMI is looking for a Student Community Specialist II who helps shape PMI's global digital community experience, connecting students, and early career professionals to an evolving, always-on ecosystem of professional content and connection. This role is ideal for a community professional who can design and deliver scalable, digital-first engagement models that drive meaningful participation across PMI's platforms. This role is perfect for someone with a strong foundation in community management and who can turn engagement goals into high-quality programs, workflows, and member experiences. It requires sound judgment, the ability to navigate moderately complex challenges, and a focus on continuously improving delivery at scale. Success means building high-performing community spaces that activate users and turn participation into lasting connection, contribution, and professional growth. The ideal candidate understands what motivates the student and early career audience, how they communicate, and how to position PMI's value in a way that is relevant, credible, and engaging at key moments in their professional journey.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Design and deliver scalable, digital-first engagement models that connect students, volunteers, and early career professionals to PMI's ecosystem.
- Plan, execute, and continuously improve Chapter Student Club, Mentoring, and Next Gen program lifecycle activities, including onboarding, engagement journeys, and retention strategies.
- Develop and implement virtual and hybrid engagement opportunities (e.g., webinars, global meetups, peer-to-peer experiences, online communities) to expand reach and accessibility.
- Leverage digital platforms and tools to grow, activate, and sustain global student communities, with a focus on engagement conversion and ongoing participation.
- Create and optimize online engagement strategies, including content, campaigns, and community playbooks that drive interaction and value creation.
- Monitor community health and effectiveness, owning outcomes for defined workstreams or segments.
- Continuously improve community processes and practices based on experience, feedback, and observed results.
- Build and maintain working relationships with community members, contributors, and cross-functional partners within scope.
- Support onboarding, guidance, or mentoring of newer team members or contributors as needed.
- Communicate plans, progress, and outcomes clearly to teammates and stakeholders.
Role Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 2-5 Years of experience in community, customer, or member engagement roles.
- Experience working with students, academic institutions, or education-focused programs an asset.
- Demonstrated experience owning defined programs, spaces, segments, or initiatives.
- Relevant experience may include running community programs or events, managing groups or segments, developing engagement plans, supporting contributors or volunteers, and improving community processes.
- Working knowledge of community management, engagement, moderation, and operational practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate plans, progress, and results clearly.
- Ability to plan, execute, and improve community initiatives with consistency and attention to quality.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to address moderately complex issues and propose practical solutions.
- Ability to work independently within defined scope while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives or priorities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teammates, contributors, and cross-functional partners.
- Demonstrated ownership mindset, reliability, and follow-through.
- Proficiency in the business language for PMI (English)
- Travel up to 5%.
