Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. Coursework, internship, or experience related to IAM, SQL, SSO, databases, scripting, system support, or application administration.
Position Summary
The Application Analyst Assistant provides entry-level support for the Identity & Access Management ( IAM) systems that support campus accounts and access management services. Working under close supervision, this role assists senior analysts and team members with system support tasks, documentation, testing, and customer service activities while developing foundational technical and analytical skills.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Strong willingness to learn technical systems and enterprise-level business processes, with effective written and verbal communication skills. Experience with customer service or helpdesk environments.
Familiarity with identity and access management tools and systems, Linux or Windows servers, Active Directory, LDAP, and Single Sign-on authentication solutions and protocols, such as multi-factor authentication, CAS, SAML, and OIDC.
Experience with task and project management, ability to communicate with clients, and knowledgeable about standard security practices.

Assist with Identity & Access Management System Support


  • Assist senior analysts in supporting and maintaining Identity Management systems used for campus identifiers such as UGAID, MyID, and related services.
  • Assist senior analysts in supporting and maintaining Single Sign-On systems used for campus authentication.
  • Help gather, document, and clarify client requests and requirements under guidance.
  • Support routine tasks related to system configuration, testing, and documentation.
  • Perform assigned tasks related to application updates, data validation, process execution, and account updates necessary to support IAM solutions.
  • Assist with responding to requests and issues submitted through the IAM support queues; escalate issues as needed.
  • Follow secure, established procedures and standards provided by leadership and senior staff.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with IT staff and campus partners through courteous and professional communication.

  • Assist with basic tasks related to account maintenance and access provisioning as directed.
  • Help analyze and document functional requirements, workflows, and system changes.
  • Participate in testing and validation of system updates and enhancements.
  • Follow established security and data-protection practices; report potential issues to senior team members.
  • Learn about information security initiatives and access management solutions through hands-on participation.

  • Assist with project-related activities such as documentation, testing, and status updates.

  • Support delivery of services by completing tasks in accordance with timelines and instructions.

  • Develop a working understanding of Identity and Access Management concepts and tools.

  • Apply newly learned skills to assigned tasks under supervision.
  • Share learned information with team members when appropriate.
