As a Logistics Analyst at Mansfield Oil, you will support nationwide petroleum distribution by managing freight movement from suppliers to customer locations. This role focuses on freight P&L, carrier performance, and the success of our LTL and DEF. Key responsibilities include procuring freight, building carrier and partner relationships, supporting account profitability, integrating new business, and resolving operational issues. The role also provides business and technical support to help improve efficiency and service. The ideal candidate is analytical, knowledgeable about freight markets, and skilled at negotiation and stakeholder management. Responsibilities Freight P&L Management
- Cultivate and utilize in-depth market knowledge to secure competitive freight rates through the carrier network.
- Develop and leverage in-depth market analysis to identify the most profitable freight routes within the Full Truckload (FTL) carrier networks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers to uncover and capitalize on less profitable lanes, thereby creating opportunities for more profitable freight movement.
- Negotiate freight rates that deliver a competitive edge and drive profitability for both Mansfield Oil and its customers.
- Oversee complex and high-profile projects, ensuring alignment with departmental and business objectives.
- Identify and source new carrier partners to fill gaps in nationwide coverage across all service types.
- Actively participate in Business Reviews with the top delivery partners in the respective region.
Logistics Coordination
- Setup, coordinate and monitor FTL/LTL freight delivery execution from suppliers to customer locations nationwide.
- Track and analyze carrier performance on a regular basis, identifying and addressing problem areas promptly.
- Collaborate with suppliers and customer locations to minimize demurrage expenses by streamlining operations.
- Prepare and present analytical reports, presentations, and correspondence to management.
- Prioritize daily tasks to ensure the completion of the most critical activities, enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Organize resources effectively to enable quick access to necessary information.
Account Profitability Support
- Analyze profit and loss metrics by product line, carrier, and site to identify and mitigate recurring issues or missed opportunities.
- Drive process improvement initiatives by optimizing service schedules and implementing operational strategies to boost customer satisfaction and profitability.
- Review and resolve freight payable issues and exceptions, collaborating with relevant teams as needed.
- Work closely with the product line team to monitor sales and margin performance by customer, addressing any anomalies or concerns.
New Business Integration
- Foster strong relationships with carriers, understanding their gross margin targets by service type across various markets.
- Negotiate freight rates that deliver maximum competitive advantage and profitability for Mansfield Oil.
- Lead the integration of all new business, including onboarding new customers and expanding business with existing customers.
- Participate in external integration meetings (in-person or via teleconference) to ensure smooth onboarding processes.
- Prepare business rules and ensure accurate account setup for new customers, particularly regarding billing requirements.
- Coordinate with Sales Representatives to deliver a seamless onboarding experience.
- Verify that all customer requirements are met and communicate the startup process with carriers and the Logistics team.
Business and Technical Support
- Enhance carrier utilization of Mansfield Energy's technology offerings, including the company website, D1Connect, and collaboration with the Business Technology (BT) team for necessary permissions, security, and data support.
- Handle new account setups and change requests as needed, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Provide data support for Sales Representatives and CRMs, aiding in the development of compelling sales presentations using gap analysis, benchmarks, and other analytical tools.
- Participate in New Customer Implementation Meetings to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing customer satisfaction.
- Ensure the quality, efficiency, and accuracy of all customer service transactions.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying and reporting software bugs, and proposing enhancements to the platforms used in collaboration with the partner network.
Position Requirements Formal Education & Certification
- Bachelor's degree required (Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related preferred).
Knowledge & Experience
- 3+ Years of experience in freight logistics, with a focus on P&L management, carrier negotiations, and logistics coordination
- Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with carriers and other key stakeholders.
- Proficiency in logistics management software and other relevant technologies.

Work Environment
- Hybrid work schedule available after introductory period (3 days onsite / 2 days remote).
- Requires occasional overnight travel for carrier visits, customer meetings, and emergency response planning.
- Must be available for extended hours during emergency events or peak activity periods.
