The Environmental Technician II supports industrial customers by performing preventive maintenance and fluid service on metalworking equipment and systems. Working alongside experienced teammates, this role helps maintain machine performance, fluid quality, and safe working environments at customer facilities. Technicians travel to customer locations to clean equipment, remove and replace industrial fluids, and support service projects that keep production operations running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, learning technical equipment, and building relationships with customers while delivering dependable service.
- Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning on industrial machinery and metalworking fluid systems at customer sites
- Remove, replace, recycle, and process metalworking fluids and related materials
- Collect, transport, and properly dispose of used fluids, waste, and debris in accordance with safety procedures
- Follow established service checklists and work instructions to complete maintenance tasks accurately
- Assist with mixing, diluting, and verifying chemical solutions used in industrial metalworking processes
- Set up and operate service equipment used for machine cleaning and fluid management
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at customer facilities and service locations
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and service equipment as required for job tasks
- Drive company service vehicles to customer locations and maintain vehicle readiness and basic inventory
- Communicate effectively with teammates and customers while working in active manufacturing environments
- Identify and report safety risks, equipment issues, or improvement opportunities during service work
- Support continuous improvement efforts that increase efficiency, service quality, and customer satisfaction
- Follow all EHSS policies, safety procedures, and required PPE guidelines while performing work
- Represent Ascentek professionally by delivering dependable service and building positive customer relationships
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience and/or Training:
- Ability to safely use hand tools and basic mechanical equipment
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in industrial environments
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial service equipment and processes
- Ability to follow written instructions, checklists, and safety procedures
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
License/ Certification:
- Valid driver's license required and ability to operate company vehicles
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to communicate clearly with teammates and customers
- Mechanical curiosity and willingness to learn technical systems
- Ability to organize tasks and complete work independently once trained

- Previous experience in manufacturing, maintenance, mechanical service, or industrial environments
- Experience working with industrial equipment, pumps, fluid systems, or maintenance tools
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment
- Familiarity with metalworking fluids, industrial chemicals, or machine maintenance practices
- Experience working at customer sites or in field service environments
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Frequent lifting and carrying of equipment and materials up to 50 pounds
- Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tight or confined spaces around machinery
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Work performed at external customer facilities including manufacturing and industrial environments
- Exposure to moderate high noise levels, industrial equipment, and chemical handling environments
- Regular driving between service locations using company vehicles
- Occasional overnight travel depending on customer service needs
