This position is in-office during the initial training period of up to six months, with the potential for a hybrid schedule afterward depending on business needs; hybrid arrangements may change as necessary.


To be considered, candidates must reside in the state of Wisconsin and be available for on-site projects and meetings.

This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic people initiatives with hands-on coordination and employee interaction.


Position Summary

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist/Employee Engagement Specialist independently provides a broad range of human resource services in the areas of:



  • Employee recruitment and selection
  • Employee engagement initiatives and workplace culture programs
  • Planning and coordinating employee events and recognition activities
  • Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) management
  • Policy and procedure development
  • Organizational initiatives and special projects


This role is designed to enhance the overall employee experience at GHC-SCW while supporting organizational goals and fostering a positive, connected workplace culture.


The HR Generalist performs under the general direction, guidance, and supervision of the Chief Human Resources Officer with additional accountability to the HR Manager.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead employee engagement programs, wellness activities, appreciation events, and culture-building initiatives
  • Plan and execute employee events, celebrations, recognition programs, and team-building activities
  • Support full-cycle recruitment efforts including posting positions, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new hires
  • Maintain and manage HRIS records and employee data with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Assist with development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Partner with leadership to support organizational initiatives and employee communication efforts
  • Promote a positive employee experience through responsive HR support and relationship building
  • Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives within Human Resources


What We're Looking For

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a human resource management, business, healthcare administration or similar environment.
  • Passion for employee engagement, workplace culture, and event coordination
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and attention to detail
  • Experience in human resources, recruiting, employee relations, or organizational development preferred
  • HRIS experience and proficiency with technology systems preferred
  • Self-motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative environment
