Continuation past the termlengthdiscussed willbebasedonuniversityneed,performance,and/oravailabilityoffunding.POSITION SPECIFICS The Black School of Business at Penn State Behrend invites applications for a non-tenure-track, one-year fixed-term faculty position in Marketing, beginning August 2026. Appointment will be at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor, depending on qualifications. High-quality teaching will be expected of the selected candidate. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and MBA-level courses in marketing, including the undergraduate capstone in Marketing Strategy, Retailing, and MBA-level Marketing Strategy. Instruction will occur in residential and hybrid formats, with hybrid defined as a mix of in-person and online instruction within a single course. A master's degree in marketing or a closely related field is required by the appointment start date. Candidates with a strong background in analytics or quantitative methods with experience in the use of Excel and statistical software packages will be preferred. Preferred qualifications include relevant industry experience and prior teaching experience including teaching in a hybrid and/or online format. The selected candidate will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and to working with individuals who have a broad spectrum of perspectives and experiences, who will contribute to the excellence of the academic community at Penn State. The Black School houses the Center for Financial Literacy and the Center for Family Business. The school supports a growing, all-campus interest in research that addresses issues of women's health, energy and sustainability, and polymer science. The Black School of Business occupies a modern $30 million facility, with the School of Engineering providing a basis for a multi-disciplinary educational experience for students, interdisciplinary research for faculty, and joint opportunities for industry engagement. The $20 million endowment, with a market value of approximately $40 million today, provides significant support for the school's programs. The endowment helps fund undergraduate scholarships, graduate assistantships, library and information technology resources, outreach activities, several faculty chairs, endowed professorships, and new programming initiatives.
