Job Description
The Production Runner plays a critical role in ensuring efficient food production operations in an airline catering environment. This position is responsible for setting up production stations and ensuring teams are continuously supplied with products, while maintaining cleanliness and organization in work and storage areas.

Essential Functions

* Set up production or equipment stations to prepare for daily operations.
* Maintain product flow by replenishing items at production lines as needed.
* Load and unload items into and out of coolers, freezers, warehouses, and storerooms.
* Rotate inventory using the FIFO (First In, First Out) system at all times.
* Prepare and organize coolers with the products required for the next day's operations.
* Ensure production rooms, setup areas, and storage coolers remain clean, sanitized, and well organized.
* Assist in checking that all stored products are properly labeled and dated.
* Follow all HACCP, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures in compliance with Flying Food Group safety standards.

Skills and Qualifications

* Must be 18 years or older.
* High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
* Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or food manufacturing environment preferred.
* Basic understanding of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
* Must be able to work in refrigerated and fast-paced environments.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and deliver materials promptly to avoid production delays.
* Ensures that correct items and quantities are delivered to workstations.
* Clear and effective verbal communication with production leads, supervisors, and warehouse teams.
* Keeps work areas clean and maintains accurate documentation for inventory movement.
* Able to respond quickly to last-minute changes and shift production needs.
* Works collaboratively with multiple departments to maintain a smooth workflow.
* Strong attendance, punctuality, and dependable work ethic.
* Forklift or pallet jack experience is a plus (certification preferred but not required).

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This position is located in a food manufacturing facility and involves working in areas that may be cold, hot, humid, or noisy. The environment includes exposure to strong food odors, allergens, and moving equipment. Employees must follow strict sanitation and safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Work may take place on wet or slippery surfaces. Schedules may include overtime, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs.

Physical Demands
The physical requirements for this position may include, but are not limited to:

* Standing/Walking: Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, often on concrete or other hard surfaces.
* Lifting/Carrying: Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 25 lbs. (occasionally more with assistance or equipment).
* Repetitive Motions: Use of hands and arms for repetitive tasks such as packing, sorting, or operating machinery.
* Reaching/Bending: Frequent reaching overhead, bending, stooping, and crouching throughout the shift.
* Manual Dexterity: Use of fine motor skills for tasks requiring precision and coordination, such as operating controls or using small tools.
* Climbing: Occasionally climb ladders or stairs to access equipment or elevated workstations.
* Visual Requirements: Ability to visually inspect products, labels, or equipment for quality and safety standards.
* Auditory Requirements: Ability to hear alarms, machine sounds, and verbal communication in a noisy environment.
* PPE Use: Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, hair nets, earplugs, safety glasses, steel-toe boots) for the duration of the shift.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Standard hours and days of work may vary based on production schedules and operational needs, including flight schedules. Evening, weekends, and holiday work may be required, as well as occasional overtime.
