Job Description:

DaVita seeks an experienced IT Project Manager to lead enterprise-wide, cross-functional projects. This PM will lead multiple strategic projects within the Enterprise Data Solutions Portfolio. Typical projects involve substantial data integration and ETL work, deliver high end reporting, and which generally center around DaVita's Enterprise Data Warehouse.

  • Polished Executive Communication skills, comfortable collaborating with Sr IT Leaders and Business Executives to define, plan and deliver complex projects.

  • Collaborative Leader, who models personal empowerment and personal ownership to their project team, to help the team achieve more than they could without the PM's Leadership.

  • Solid understanding of Project Management Best Practices. Comfortable building project budgets, collaboratively developing project schedules, managing project change, and delivering project status. PM will partner with several IT Leaders (Architect, Requirements Lead, Development Manager, QA Lead, Training Lead, Service Deck Representative, etc) to deliver each IT project. PM must have experience delivering IT projects, but is not expected to have in-depth subject matter expertise with requirements gathering, application development, or quality assurance.

  • Thrives in an environment, in which teammates have a high degree of empowerment and responsibility. PM's primarily responsibility is to provide leadership and support AI Team in delivery of business value. PM has process-oriented, tactical responsibilities, which are necessary but secondary in importance.

  • Responsible for leading Project Team, including mentoring/coaching/recognizing excellence/addressing conflict needed to manage a geographically diverse IT project team.

  • PMs is comfortable succeeding through influence, not authority. DaVita IT is functionally organized. PMs succeed by building professional relationships that are based upon mutual trust and respect. Project Leadership Teams are highly empowered to exercise their professional judgement, and are collectively responsible to deliver their specific project solution.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manages end-to-end delivery of 4-6 large, complex IT project solutions

  • Primary responsibility to manage project Scope, Schedule and Budget

  • Leads IT Project team, composed primarily of dedicated AI professionals

  • Collaborates with senior stakeholders within IT and Business to clearly articulate scope boundaries and quantify business value to be delivered

  • Represents the project in various governance and inter-departmental forums

  • Manages all aspects of the project lifecycle and oversees project delivery within DaVita's project delivery framework

  • Manages project scope, schedule and budget, to ensure IT commitments are met within established time, cost and quality parameters.

  • Publishes the project charter and project closeout report. Published the project budget and staffing plan. Creates and maintains the project schedule. Processes project change requests, as needed. Develops and implements project communication plan. Regularly reports project status.

  • Single accountable party to manage and report upon project budget. Validates financial forecasts from lane leads. Tracks actual spend, accruals and forecast spend. Publishes monthly budget forecasts. Manages variance between planned and actual spend. Manages budget contingency. Approves project labor. In partnership with lane leads, maintains project staffing plan.

  • Proactively manages project risks, issues. Identifies and resolves blockers raised by project team. Appropriately escalates project issues to AI Leadership, PMO Leadership and ultimately to IT Sr Leadership as needed, to keep projects on-track.

Qualifications and Education:

  • Proven ability to build strong, long-term professional relationships, based upon trust and respect.

  • Strong influencing skills

  • Sound business and technical acumen

  • Experienced with stakeholder expectation management

  • Adaptable leader who is thrives in a dynamic work environment, in which project solutions deliver real benefit to patients, and in which business needs evolve over the lifecycle of individual projects

  • Excellent ability to communicate at all levels in a clear, confident, concise manner.

  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to learn and navigate complex organizational structures.

  • 5+ years of project management experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical field (Master's Degree preferred)

  • Project Management Certification (PMP, SCM, etc)

  • Experience using Agile/Iterative project management platforms (Jira, Confluence)

  • Experience using a PPM (Project and Portfolio Management) tool

The Salary Range for the role is $78,000.00 - $119,000.00/year.
