Labor Rates Analyst Position Summary We are seeking an automotive professional with dealership service experience to support labor rate research and analysis. This role is ideal for a former Service Advisor, Warranty Administrator, Technician, Shop Foreman, Service Manager, or dealership operations professional who understands repair orders, labor operations, flat-rate times, and automotive repair costs. The Labor Rates Analyst will review dealership repair orders, analyze labor and parts costs, and support labor rate evaluations through research and reporting. Key Responsibilities * Review and analyze dealership repair orders for labor rate studies and cost evaluations. * Interpret repair order documentation, including labor operations, technician time, parts usage, and customer pay repairs. * Evaluate labor charges, flat-rate times, and repair costs to ensure accuracy and consistency. * Understand dealership service department operations, warranty repairs, and customer pay repair processes. * Conduct market research by contacting independent repair facilities and dealerships to gather labor rate information. * Compile, analyze, and report data using Microsoft Excel. * Maintain accurate records and documentation to support labor rate recommendations. * Work independently while collaborating with internal teams and dealership personnel. Required Qualifications * Prior automotive dealership experience is required. * Experience as a Service Advisor, Warranty Administrator, Automotive Technician, Shop Foreman, Service Manager, Parts Professional, or similar dealership role. * Ability to read, interpret, and analyze repair orders. * Understanding of labor operations, flat-rate manuals, technician labor times, and repair cost structures. * Familiarity with warranty and customer pay repair processes. * Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. * Strong communication and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications * Experience reviewing warranty claims or repair order audits. * Knowledge of dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, etc.). * Experience with labor time guides, warranty administration, or dealership fixed operations. Important Note This position requires hands-on knowledge of dealership service operations. Candidates without automotive dealership experience or repair order experience will not be considered.
