Engineering Standards Manager - JLL

The Engineering Standards Manager at JLL plays a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining the highest standards of engineering excellence across our organization. In this position, you'll leverage JLL's global platform and local expertise to ensure the consistent application of engineering best practices, compliance, and innovation across all managed properties and projects. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain engineering standards and procedures to ensure consistency, safety, and compliance across all JLL-managed properties and projects

  • Lead the review and continuous improvement of engineering processes, incorporating industry best practices and emerging technologies to enhance operational performance

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including property management, sustainability, and project management to align engineering standards with organizational goals and client requirements

  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of engineering operations to verify adherence to established standards and identify areas for improvement

  • Provide technical guidance and training to engineering staff, ensuring a high level of competency and awareness of current standards and regulatory requirements

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to engineering standards, compliance, and operational efficiency

  • Support sustainability initiatives by integrating energy-efficient and environmentally responsible practices into engineering standards

  • Act as a subject matter expert for engineering standards, representing JLL in client meetings, industry forums, and regulatory discussions as needed

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline)

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in engineering management, facilities management, or related field within commercial real estate

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing engineering standards and procedures across multiple sites or portfolios

  • Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and building automation systems

  • Deep understanding of relevant codes, regulations, and compliance requirements (OSHA, ASHRAE, NFPA, local building codes)

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess complex engineering challenges

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

Preferred qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent professional certification

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field

  • Experience with sustainability certifications and standards (LEED, WELL, ENERGY STAR)

  • Background in managing engineering teams or technical training programs

  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building management systems (BMS)

  • Experience working in a global or matrixed organization with diverse stakeholder groups

Estimated compensation for this position:

90,000.00 - 120,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
