The Systems Engineering SME serves as a senior technical authority within the Golden Dome program, providing subjectmatter expertise across system-of-systems integration, architecture development, technical planning, and enterprise coordination. This role drives missioncritical engineering activities supporting advanced missile defense and space commandandcontrol capabilities. The SME partners closely with senior program leadership, technical chiefs, engineering leads, and crossorganizational mission stakeholders to ensure system performance, technical alignment, integration fidelity, and readiness across a complex, multiagency environment. The position requires deep technical insight, disciplined systems engineering practices, and demonstrated leadership within fastpaced, strategically significant national defense programs.
Contract Overview:
Golden Dome is a national-level, whole-of-nation initiative in which you will play a critical role in advancing next-generation homeland defense capabilities. If you are seeking a fast-paced position focused on developing innovative software for the Space-Based Interceptor mission, this opportunity is designed for you.
Responsibilities:
Program Execution
  • Maintain configuration, technical baselines, and system-level requirements across the program lifecycle.
  • Ensure alignment of engineering work products, milestone artifacts, and technical documentation with program objectives and contract deliverables.
CrossTeam Leadership
  • Serve as a senior technical advisor to the Program Director, Deputy Director, Technical Chief, Program Chief Engineer, and Integrations Chief.
  • Coordinate engineering efforts across Aerospace sector leads, integration teams, and multidisciplinary IPTs.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the GDAC2 office to ensure seamless integration with theirarchitectures, requirements, roadmaps, and development timelines.
  • Engage with mission engineering teams, modeling and simulation groups, and system architects to align technical objectives across organizations.
System Strategy / Architecture
  • Evaluate system performance, interoperability constraints, and integration pathways for emerging technologies.
Technical Reviews
  • Prepare and evaluate artifacts, criteria, and engineering evidence supportinggatereviews.
  • Assess system maturity, architecture stability, and integration readiness during technical gate reviews.
Integration
  • Oversee system-of-systems integration efforts across software, ground systems, mission data flows, and crossdomain interfaces.
  • Ensure technical compatibility and architectural alignment across internal and external components.
  • Evaluate integration test results and support verification, validation, and operational readiness assessments.
Technical Skills
  • Systemofsystems engineering, and technical baseline management
  • Integration engineering across multiagency, multi-domain environments
  • Missile defense and space C2 mission knowledge
  • Understanding of mission threads, CONOPS, interoperability constraints, and end-to-end system flows
  • Experience with integration frameworks, enterprise-level architecture, and government technical standards
  • Familiarity with SE processes, configuration management, and milestone readiness
Leadership Skills
  • Ability to engage and advise senior leadership across government and industry
  • Strong communication skills for conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Skilled in consensus building, stakeholder alignment, and conflict resolution
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated SMElevel expertise in systems engineering and system-of-systems integration
  • 15+ years of relevant experience supporting missile defense, space C2, or related national security missions
  • Proven experience interfacing with senior government leadership and highvisibility program offices
  • Demonstrated capability supporting technical reviews, milestone readiness, and engineering artifact development
  • Experience aligning cross-organizational technical objectives within a complex mission environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting space-based weapons,oradvanced interceptors.
  • Exposure to enterprise-level space C2 architectures or integrated battle management systems.
  • Experience supporting rapid prototyping, earlystage concept development, or emerging technology demonstration programs.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree with 15+ years' related experience; Master's degree preferred.
Required Security Clearance:
  • Must haveactiveSecret Clearance witheligibility to get TS/SCI
