Intern Airline Demand Planning Data Analysis

Role Description

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Airline Demand Planning team in a fast-paced, global organization within an innovative and unique industry. You will gain hands-on experience contributing to projects revolving around the deployment of inflight connectivity projects for SES Open Orbits.

Your Responsibilities

  • Satellite Capacity Forecasting for Open Orbits Sales Proposals:
    • Produce detailed forecasts for airline inflight connectivity to assess regional capacity requirements over time for SES Open Orbits
    • Develop and maintain simulation models for new business opportunities to estimate lifetime capacity requirements and assess incremental demand against baseline business, in order to accelerate Open Orbits sales
    • Run complex scenario analyses and visualize results through professional-grade graphs and tables to highlight key differences and trends.
  • AI Optimization: Identify and implement tool enhancements by leveraging AI to drive forecast efficiency and detail. You will use AI to optimize the demand analysis process, reduce RFP response times, and scope projects that accelerate the overall forecasting pipeline.
  • Data Analysis & Insights: Perform deep-dive analysis on large datasets to provide meaningful insights and actionable recommendations for the SES Aero team.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with various teams across SES to align data outputs with global business goals.

Your Profile

  • Python Proficiency: Must be fluent in Python, with a strong understanding of core programming logic.
  • Advanced Excel: Must be proficient in creating and managing complex spreadsheets, including data analysis, pivot tables, charts, and graphs. Ability to write and edit formulas, use VLOOKUP and INDEX/MATCH functions, and perform data manipulation tasks.
  • Professionalism: Ability to work well independently as well as within a collaborative team environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Sharp acumen for detail and a self-motivated approach to taking initiative and learning new methodologies.
  • Problem Solving: A proven interest in solving complex, multi-layered problems within a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage a variety of stakeholders (e.g., technical and non-technical).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Libraries: Experience using Numpy, Matplotlib, and pandas for data manipulation and visualization.
  • AI Integration: Experience leveraging AI tools to build, optimize, or enhance Python-based data tools
