Intern meoSphere Strategic Supplier Management Role Description meoSphere is the next generation of SES's Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellites, network, and service. It is designed to offer highly available, global, secure connectivity services for commercial customers, governments, and other enterprises and ensuring reliable high-speed broadband access to underserved regions. SES is seeking an individual to be part of a team to provide critical support for meoSphere design, integration, testing, and delivery of advanced satellite payloads and ground infrastructure. This position requires basic technical and project management skills to work closely with internal and external engineers, subsystem suppliers, and partners to ensure mission success. Key Responsibilities
- Work with team leads on external vendor and partner engagement as part of the design team for the SES demonstration missions, other in-orbit prototype satellite projects, and the production network deployment.
- Support design of end-to-end supply chain solutions and processes that meet SES needs for components that will operate within the meoSphere constellation and network.
- Participate in satellite system definition, manufacturing, and payload component design and procurement activities within the meoSphere project.
- Monitor architecture and subsystem technical requirements and align with enterprise goals for component delivery.
- Provide supply chain management support to major procurements related to in-house subsystem implementation and manufacturing projects to ensure paths are in place for all meoSphere projects.
- Support Requests for Proposals/Requests for Information (RFIs/RFPs) with potential suppliers; ensuring non-disclosure agreements are in place and be part of a team for the single point of contact for supply chain activities.
- Work with meoSphere and other SES teams to support evaluation and ensure selected components and solutions meet the meoSphere needs
- Maintain high-quality relationships between suppliers in all forms and the SES and meoSphere teams.
- Ensure projects move through crucial contractual agreement and life-cycle processes to provide on-time implementation.
- Work closely with Technical Program Manager, Space Systems & Payload Development, Satellite Ground & Mission Systems, and Architecture and Systems Engineering to implement baseline and de-risk satellite integration plans.
- Other tasks as needed to field meoSphere capabilities to meet service needs.
Technical Experience
- Basic technical knowledge of the elements of end-to-end satellite communications and related terrestrial networking.
- Interest in managing subsystem procurement and integration of complex programs.
- Willingness to learn about systems engineering processes and coordination with business and finance considerations in system implementation.
- Excellent personal skills, ability to participate in meetings including communication with senior management.
- Interest in satellite payload integration, interface definition, spacecraft assembly, integration, and testing processes.
- Ability to support the drafting and editing of technical documentation.
- Desire to learn about management of complex system interfaces and solution delivery.
Qualifications
- Proven performance in a program progressing towards a degree in engineering including electrical, mechanical, and aerospace.
- Experience in satellite communications and systems engineering preferred.
- Fluency in English; other languages are considered an asset.
