Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for an outreach and transition services coordinator. This position engages in regular and systematic communication with prospective students with disabilities, including making initial contact, following up on inquiries and providing information and presentations as requested; attends local education agencies’ (LEAs) events, builds relationships that benefit the college with LEA staff and justice system partners and informs them of changes in academic and student onboarding; coordinates and/or provides supportive services to facilitate academic persistence and success of students with disabilities. This position regularly works evening and weekend hours as needed. Core work hours for this position are Mon. - Fri., 8: 00am - 4: 30pm (1 hour lunch); however, evening and weekend hours are regularly required for this position. This position requires significant local travel in Wicomico, Worcester and Somerset counties.

- Engages in regular and systematic communication with prospective students with disabilities, including making initial contact, following up on inquiries and providing information and presentations as requested
- Attends local education agency (LEA) events; builds relationships that benefit the college with LEA staff and justice system partners and informs them of changes in academic and student onboarding; and promotes the college at schools, college fairs, community events and special events throughout the region
- Prepares and delivers professional reports and presentations to community partners and participates in campus-wide events and initiatives
- Serves as a proxy for the Disability Support Services Grant Administrator during unforeseen absences, ensuring continuity of operations and maintaining direct contact with state reporting agencies
- Coordinates and/or provides seamless support during the student onboarding process to facilitate enrollment
- Collaborates with the enrollment management and financial aid departments to provide information to prospective students with disabilities about scholarships, financial aid, enrollment, registration, vocational rehabilitation, and other community agencies serving students with disabilities
- Works in collaboration with campus academic departments to provide LEAs and justice system partners with opportunities to meet with faculty, assists with scheduling classroom visits, and provides follow-up to students who faculty have visited
- Contributes to the college's annual and five-year comprehensive department assessment process
- Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
-
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years of related experience, preferably in disability services, counseling, social work, or a related field
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, leadership, problem-solving, critical thinking and teamwork skills
- Ability to make presentations to various-sized groups
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Preference will be given to candidates with community college experience

Supplemental Information

This full-time administrative position is grant-funded and includes an excellent benefits package. The starting salary for this position will likely range from $60,200 to $70,000 depending on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience as well as grant specifications.
The core working hours for this position are Mon. - Fri., 8: 00am - 4: 30pm (1 hour lunch); however, evening and weekend hours are regularly required. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required. This position requires significant local travel. in Wicomico, Worcester and Somerset counties.
