The Foothill-De Anza Community College District is currently accepting applications for the faculty position of Faculty Coordinator, Guided Pathways, De Anza College.

The Foothill - De Anza Community College District does not have a remote work policy. All employees are expected to be available to work in person and on-site per the requirement of the department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:

Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Instruction, the Guided Pathways Faculty Coordinator provides faculty leadership advancing Guided Pathways at De Anza College, with primary responsibility for curriculum alignment, program mapping, schedule design, onboarding coordination and completion initiatives.
  • Collaborate with faculty across divisions to review, simplify, and align program and degree maps to strengthen clarity, coherence, and completion.
  • Align curriculum sequencing with published program pathways, transfer requirements, and Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) structures.
  • Work with the Associate Vice President of Instruction to analyze schedule patterns and enrollment trends to support pathway coherence and student progression.
  • Partner with the Articulation Officer to align program maps, transfer pathways, and curriculum updates with CSU, UC, and other transfer mandates.
  • Collaborate with Student Services leadership and counseling faculty to align onboarding processes, metamajor placement, and early supports within the Guided Pathways framework.
  • Collaborate with the Villages Coordinator, as appropriate, to ensure coherence across instructional and Villages-based student engagement strategies.
  • Facilitate student and community engagement within the Villages, supporting programming, outreach, and partnerships that build connections across the campus and with external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to Villages' staff onboarding regarding degree mapping, transfer requirements and institutional data systems.
  • Facilitate faculty engagement in reviewing program requirements, reducing complexity, and strengthening pathway clarity.
  • Support retention and completion initiatives through curriculum and schedule alignment.
  • Support integration of derivative projects (e.g., onboarding, ZTC, CPL, equity initiatives) into the broader Guided Pathways framework, creating synergy across institutional redesign efforts.
  • Contribute to institutional reporting related to Guided Pathways and college planning processes.
  • Participate in college-wide planning related to curriculum systems, academic scheduling, and student success strategies.
  • Serve on relevant institutional committees (e.g., Curriculum Committee, Equity Committee, College Council) to represent Guided Pathways and ensure alignment with college-wide priorities.
  • Design and deliver the instructional component of staff onboarding for Pathfinders and Village-affiliated staff, covering Guided Pathways philosophy, degree mapping, transfer requirements, and institutional data systems as necessary or appropriate.

Standard duties expected of all faculty include development and evaluation of curricula, maintaining scheduled office hours, attending department and division meetings, pursuing professional growth activities, service on district and/or college committees, and performing other duties consistent with the role of a tenure-track faculty member.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and cultural backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.
  2. Master's in any discipline that is taught at De Anza College.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with curriculum development, program review, or pathway design in a community college setting.
  • Experience analyzing enrollment patterns, schedule structures, or course sequencing to improve student progression.
  • Experience collaborating with articulation offices and knowledge of transfer requirements, including ADTs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with instructional and student services faculty and administrators.
  • Experience facilitating faculty discussions related to curriculum simplification or student success initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Title 5 requirements and transfer mandates affecting program design.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity-centered student success.
  • Ability to use data to inform collaborative decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with ACCJC accreditation standards and program review at California community colleges.
  • Experience working with institutional research staff to design and interpret equity-focused data reports.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time, Tenure-track, 11-months per year (11th month July).
