Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Test Engineer for the Engineering, Professional, and Administrative Support Services (EPASS) Contract at Peterson SFB. As the Test Engineer you will provide technical and engineering support for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and major IT Test and Evaluation (T&E) to SSC SYD 85 in the S5.



Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

    Documenting the review, test concept development, test methodology development, test plan development, test execution, and test reporting, data reduction and analysis, and enduser operational testing
  • Using Design of Experiments methods to plan and conduct test programs
  • Independently prepare (or advise others in the preparation of) criteria, computation/analyses, specifications, cost estimates test plans, and technical reports in the specific area of technical expertise
  • Select and apply engineering techniques and procedures to analyze and evaluate specific problem, data, or other features of the work which are broad in scope and complexity
  • Review and evaluate the quantity, quality, and overall adequacy of results and conclusions drawn from accomplishment of test engineering tasks
  • Devise new and innovative approaches to problems encountered, and accomplish assigned tasks with efficiency, timeliness, and thoroughness
  • Evaluate the configuration, capability, and operational relevance of test environments and ensure they are properly available for the thorough testing of software releases (e.g. fault insertion/fault identification)
  • Deconflict schedule conflicts between multiple releases, providing high quality analysis and recommendations to the program test lead
  • Operate with general instructions; but select portions of work are reviewed in detail to measure adequacy of approach, execution, and presentation.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen

Clearance: Must have an active DoD Secret clearance, eligible to obtain a Top Secret clearance and be able to maintain it

Education: High School Diploma

Years of Experience: 7 years of directly related experience; OR,

  • BA/BS degree with 3 years of directly related experience

Additional experience:

  • Have the advanced knowledge, experience and demonstrated ability to perform tasks related to the technical/professional discipline as senior a Test Engineer
  • Possess the ability to oversee and guide the efforts of junior and mid-level engineers
  • Have a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply systems and test engineering standards, procedures and practices
  • Ability to work independently and apply the proper procedures and processes related to the area of expertise
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot various situations to develop successful outcomes within established program/project guidelines

Preferred Qualifications:

Clearance:Active TS/SCI

Education: Bachelor's degree

Years of experience: 3 years of directly related experience

Additional Information:

Location: Onsite at Peterson SFB, located in Colorado Springs, CO

Hybrid: Telework capabilities for local candidates (percentage of telework allowed will vary based on the customer's discretion)

Travel: Travel may be required to CONUS locations (approx. 10%)

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
