General SummaryUnder the direction of the Director of Global Sales, The Regional Sales Manager directs and coordinates the Sales and Marketing activities in the Northeast region (ME, VT, NH, NY, NJ, MA, RI, PA, MD, WV, OH, MI, IN, and KY) to meet the company's short and long term volume and profitability goals. This individual is responsible for directing the sales efforts of the region through direct sales relationships, managing the performance of independent sales representatives, establishing sales territories, setting sales and gross profit goals, and monitoring performance related to goals. This person is also responsible for reviewing market analysis to determine customer needs, volume potential, and market pricing; prepare analysis of sales and gross profit trends and make recommendations to achieve company goals. This individual will have the ability to negotiate product pricing and sales contracts within approved company guidelines at both the sales rep and customer level. Complete all required sales activity and expense reports in accordance with company guidelines.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Ability to manage independent sales representatives while simultaneously maintaining direct sales account responsibilities with key accounts in the region. Ability to work effectively in urgent situations, and successfully handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a well-organized manner. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, strong organization and planning skills, and have the ability to consistently meet goals and deadlines. Ability to prepare or review analysis of market or sales trends and make appropriate recommendations to achieve company goals. Ability to work successfully with a minimum amount of direct supervision. Working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word, CRM System (Salesforce.com), Outlook, and Power Point Education & Experience Requirements High School Diploma and a minimum of five years sales and/or sales management experience in the Adjustable Frequency Drive or related industry is required. A Bachelor's degree with coursework in Business and Electrical Engineering curriculums is preferred. This position requires approximately 50% of overnight travel.
