Bruker Nano, one of Bruker's four operating segments, provides customers in academic and governmental institutions, life science, materials, and applied industries with the tools to determine the characteristics of matter and visualize the structure of molecules. Divisions within BNANO include Bruker AXS, Bruker Nano Analytics, Bruker Nano Surfaces and Metrology, Fluorescence Microscopy, and Canopy.

As a Manufacturing Technologist, you'll work in our production department with a team of technicians and engineers responsible for manufacturing the Hysitron product line of instrumentation. This position offers the opportunity gain hand-on skill with cutting edge technology and opens the door to an exciting future in mechanics and engineering. Under the appropriate guidance, you will be responsible for building electro-mechanical components and devices that are used in our line of nanoindentation products. You will have opportunities to work with advanced scientific tools including the Hysitron scanning probe nanomechanical test systems.



Responsibilities

    Assembly of electro-mechanical components and devices working under general supervision.
  • Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions, design improvements, and process changes to improve efficiency, quality, performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Monitor or measure manufacturing processes to identify ways to reduce losses, decrease time requirements, or improve quality.
  • Identify and implement new manufacturing methods, technologies, processes, or equipment.
  • Create engineering drawings and manufacturing documents using computer-aided design (SolidWorks CAD).
  • Develop new and improve existing assembly documentation using computer software (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Stream)


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail and an ability to work with a microscope to manipulate and assemble small electrical and mechanical components which are elements of complicated devices.
  • Experience hand soldering SMT, thru-hole and fine gauge wire (32 gauge or smaller) or an equivalent technical skill is preferred - precision modeling or assembly of delicate miniature components may be an acceptable substitute.
  • Ability to follow and understand assembly procedures, circuit schematics and wiring diagrams.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Engineering, Physics or related , with 2 years of experience or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics or related, with no experience

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $37,350 and $66,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
