Support in projects with Mechanical Engineering such as:

Process measurements, equipment evaluations, pulling process data and information from

Support in project with Materials Engineering such as:

• Asist engineer in test planning for a stress test on the paint line and heat treat data analysis
• Testing procedures
• Capturing time studies
• Documenting the test

Support in projects with Process and Automation Engineering such as:

• Values Stream Mapping; Workflow design and support for Configuration Management
• Creating process documentation, data entry, Modeling the network architecture

Essential Functions:

• Provides support to technical employees working in an organizational function related to the Intern's area of study.
• Assists with technical tasks and project support.
• Supports equipment set up and monitors tests and experiments.
• Observes results, collects data, and compiles summaries and reports.
• Learns technical processes and procedures.
• Job shadows other more experienced professionals and or support staff.
• May also support the documentation & updates of procedures or work instructions.
• Handles basic issues and problems

Required Qualifications:

• Required education and experience: Must be currently enrolled in related Technical courses or be within 6 months of graduation; No prior experience needed.
• Must be enrolled in a technical college or degree-seeking program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Oral and written communication skills. Attentiveness. Ability to understand and follow directions.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
• This position is Safety-Sensitive.

Travel Requirements:

• No or very little travel likely.
