Supervisor, Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I)
Employment Type: FullTime Work Schedule: 4/10 schedule (four 10hour days) Location: Central Florida (Onsite) Career Path: Longterm leadership track with advancement potential to Superintendent
Position Overview
We are seeking a Supervisor, Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) to lead and develop a critical maintenance team responsible for electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems within a large industrial facility. This role is designed for individuals who want to grow their leadership career, with clear upward progression opportunities into senior supervisory and superintendent roles. The Supervisor will lead a team of skilled E&I technicians, drive asset reliability, ensure safe and compliant maintenance execution, and champion continuous improvement across maintenance and reliability practices.
Team & Leadership Scope
- Total direct reports: 12-16 E&I technicians
- Active per shift: Approximately 2 technicians
- Lead, coach, and develop technical and supervisory talent
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and engagement
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide clear direction, expectations, and constructive feedback to E&I technicians
- Coach and mentor employees, addressing performance gaps and supporting career development
- Build bench strength for future supervisory and superintendent roles
- Promote strong engagement and collaboration across shifts and departments
Maintenance & Reliability Execution
- Oversee electrical, instrumentation, and automation maintenance activities
- Drive Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PDM), and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) programs
- Own the weekly maintenance workflow schedule and ensure execution aligns with plan
- Support maintenance, sustaining capital, and expansion commissioning activities
- Champion internal work standards to ensure highquality, safe execution
Safety, Compliance & Asset Health
- Conduct audits, inspections, and job walkdowns to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards
- Authorize work permits and ensure compliance with site safety programs
- Ensure electrical and instrumentation work complies with regulatory and company standards
Planning, Budgeting & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to maintenance budget planning and costeffective decisionmaking
- Partner with planning and scheduling teams to optimize workflow efficiency
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, asset health, and maintenance effectiveness
Required Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Journeyperson Electrician or related trade certification required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related technical field is a strong plus
Experience & Technical Skillset
- 5+ years of related electrical and instrumentation experience in an industrial environment
- Working knowledge of SAP or other CMMS systems
- Experience with:
- Electrical systems and instrumentation
- Flow, pressure, temperature, and level instruments
- Automation systems and controls
- Familiarity with turbines and generators is a plus
- Experience working in industrial, chemical, utility, oil & gas, automation, or plant environments
Leadership Experience
- Previous supervision of technical teams strongly preferred
- Experience managing union environments is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple workstreams and priorities
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- 2+ years of formal supervisory experience
- Highvoltage electrical experience (varied voltage levels)
- Automation and process control experience
- Experience supporting largescale industrial equipment
