Join the Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) team, where you'll contribute to groundbreaking innovations! We are seeking applicants for a junior Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) Engineer to work with us in Space Autonomy developing models of spacecraft and spacecraft components for integration into enterprise level simulation environments. These models are on the cutting edge of space vehicles and represent the next step in spacecraft development
The Strategic & Military Space Division delivers advanced satellite and sensor systems that support the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. Key Responsibilities:
- Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis using existing tools
- Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and analyzes software algorithms or utilities
- Provides inputs for documentation of new or existing programs
- Analyzes, develops, and recommends design approaches to meet requirements for new or improved products and/or processes
- Interfaces with technical support personnel, drafters, technical writers, and engineering technicians as required
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government security clearance
- Must have a bachelor's degree in a related engineering field and 0-5 years of relevant experience or a master's degree and 0-3 years of relevant experience
- Working knowledge of attitude dynamics, controls, astrodynamics, navigation, propulsion, and guidance
- 2+ years of experience with modeling and simulation of dynamic systems in MATLAB, C, C++, or other common programming languages
- Ability to work effectively both individually and within a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Some travel may be required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with object-oriented programming
- Experience with Git or other version control software
- Experience with computer vision algorithms and methods
- Experience with machine learning
- Experience implementing AI in space operations
- Bachelor's degree or minor in mathematics or software engineering
- Current or previous U.S. Government security clearance
*Salary Range
- $67,500 - $91,500
- Salary commensurate based on education and experience
