DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will manage the acquisition, development, construction, and maintenance of facilities in a way that is environmentally responsible, safety-focused, and considerate of surrounding communities. Your responsibilities will include performing a wide range of technical and administrative duties related to the department's Roadside Rest Areas, Welcome Centers, and State-Owned Driver's License and Photo Exam Centers across Districts 2, 3, 8, and 9. This portfolio includes nearly 400 buildings at more than 100 locations, such as Engineering Offices, County Maintenance Facilities, Stockpiles, and other mission-critical structures. You will oversee facility construction projects; ensure employee safety; and manage building closures, stabilization, and reopening during emergencies. You will collaborate with District and county representatives to identify and prioritize projects for inclusion in the Districts' Five-Year Strategic Plan. Additionally, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and finalize legal agreements. Finally, you will have opportunities to serve on departmental committees and represent the department in activities such as contract negotiations, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotes (RFQs), and contractor evaluations. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- This position may be based at PennDOT's Central Office in Harrisburg or at a District Engineering Office located in Districts 2, 3, or 9.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities; or
- Two years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities; and a bachelor's degree in construction technology, architecture, building science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, building automation systems, or a closely related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities.
Special Requirement:
- You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.
