Overview
The Financial Services division of a global technology organization is launching a new Venture Debt product offering. This is a founding team opportunity for an experienced credit professional to help build and scale a strategic investment platform. The role focuses on evaluating, executing, and managing venture debt investments in high-growth, innovation-driven companies.

Key Responsibilities
Deal Evaluation

  • Source and evaluate venture debt investment opportunities aligned with portfolio strategy.
  • Conduct in-depth due diligence, including financial modeling, market analysis, and competitive positioning.
  • Assess credit risk, return potential, and structural considerations for each opportunity.

Investment Execution

  • Lead transactions end-to-end, from initial screening through closing.
  • Prepare investment memos, credit papers, and presentations for internal approval committees.
  • Structure and negotiate terms in collaboration with legal and external advisors.
  • Develop and present clear investment theses and recommendations.

Portfolio Management

  • Monitor portfolio company performance against key financial and operational metrics.
  • Identify risks, growth drivers, and value creation opportunities.
  • Maintain active engagement with portfolio companies and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal functions (risk, accounting, loan operations, legal) and external partners to ensure effective portfolio oversight and recovery outcomes.

Industry Engagement

  • Track trends across venture capital, technology sectors, and credit markets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with founders, investors, and ecosystem participants.
  • Represent the organization at industry events and networking forums.

Team Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with senior leadership on investment strategy and portfolio construction.
  • Mentor junior team members and support team development.
  • Ensure adherence to internal governance, reporting, and compliance standards.

Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in venture debt, private credit, venture capital, or leveraged finance.
  • Demonstrated track record in underwriting and executing complex transactions.
  • Strong network within venture capital or startup ecosystems preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and credit analysis capabilities.
  • Strong commercial judgment and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Deep understanding of technology sectors and innovation-driven business models.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
