The work will involve a good mix of theory, algorithm development, programming, and validation. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A Ph.D. in engineering or computer science is required by the start date. Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling in urban environments, use of Artifical Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) in flood monitoring and modeling, and publishing research in leading scientific journals is desirable. Preference is given to candidates with Python programming, machine learning, and hydrodynamic modeling experience APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Apply online at https://jobs.virginia.edu/us/en and search for R0082572. Attach a cover letter, CV/resume, and contact information for three references (name, email address, telephone number, and address). Please note that multiple documents can be uploaded in the box.
