Job Title: Human Resources Specialist FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt Reports to: Asst. HR Director; HR Director Schedule: M-F 8:00AM - 4:30PM Supervises: n/a Rate of Pay: $35.00 - $38.00 hourly depending on experience Closing Date: 4/30/2026 Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

Position Summary The Human Resources Specialist will work collaboratively with the HR Director and the Asst. HR Director in all aspects of personnel including, but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, ongoing performance, verification, compliance, employee health and benefits and all employment/legal policy matters. Will act as liaison between the Intermountain employees, supervisors, officers and the HR Dept. on employment and benefit matters. The position requires familiarity and compliance with Human Resources, legal and best practices as well as Salvation Army policies, practices and procedures. Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and process TSAMM items for approval to HR Director/Asst. Director insuring items are accurate, timely and conform to Salvation Army policy and audit requirements. Document in TSAMM item, not via email TSAMM related follow-up.
- Responsible for full hiring process including timely: job postings, job descriptions, recruitment offers/efforts, and new hire and supervisor orientations and communications. Streamline the timeline and ensure regular communication of hiring/onboarding with candidates and supervisors/officers through each step.
- Weekly one-on-one with field Corps Officers of EE Supervisor(s) on any needs/and procedures and policies.
- Maintain UKG Electronic employee file for all employees in assigned locations - key, scan and upload information into HRIS databases (UKG) and TSAMM.
- Ensure that seniority information, Accruals, Benefit offerings, training and required compliance are updated according to Territorial/Divisional policy.
- Compliance tasks include initiating screens for background (hire/annual), motor vehicle reports (hire/annual) and driver's safety tests(hire/annual), central registry, employment verification checks, and unemployment responses; notifying applicable staff regarding requirements and deadlines as needed. Updates/alerts employees on E-Learning.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Form I-9 collection, processing and retention without delay or late submission.
- Updates Authorized Drivers List for respective Corps and THQ/RM support.
- Prepares and processes Adverse Action Notices for substandard screen results as defined by Territorial and Local CBRRC direction.
- Prepares and delivers exit letters/interviews/monthly TSAMM report to HR Director as applicable.
- Submits monthly reports to HR Asst/HR Director via TSAMM on: LOAs, Training, Conflict investigations, Performance (annually), EE working above or below approved hours, COEPA, OT reports for locations assigned.
- Assist with the facilitation of employee performance and conflict resolution and employment related legal proceedings.
- Administer benefit activities including enrollment, open enrollment, life events, etc. Respond to benefit inquiries. Process divisional leaves of absences and requests for reasonable accommodation. Assist supervisors in determining appropriate leave status to ensure compliance with state and federal law. Prepare related correspondence informing location and HR Director of leave dates/returns (via email and TSAMM monthly reporting)
- Support and lead training for locations as needed in line with HR initiatives.
- Annual collection and follow-through for evaluations.
- Data entry for applicable annual cost of living and minimum wage increases.
- Assist with all applicable facets of the annual bell ringing campaign to include UKG entry, E-Verify, background checks, coordinating and ensuring proper paperwork is received, etc.
- Initial point of contact for education grant information, sick-time cash-out requests and similar infrequent requests.
- Serve as back-up for other Specialists during absence, vacation or high peak periods.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience, Skills, Qualities, Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or one-year experience as a Human Resources Generalist or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills including writing, communication, and organization.
- Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity.
- Good reasoning and sound judgement abilities.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and expectations with frequently shifting priorities.
- Knowledge of wage and hour laws and regulations including basic understanding of Section 125 cafeteria plans, flexible spending accounts, and 403(b) plans
- Ability to maintain and promote a professional work environment.

Requirements
- Driving
- The employee must be 21 years old at minimum (for insurance provision) and possess a valid in-state driver's license
- An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies
- Background Check
- Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies
- Physical
- Ability to maneuver, to remain in a stationary position, to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead, to lift 25 pounds, to access and produce information from the computer, to operate telephone, to understand written information
