Overview

The Financial Reporting Analyst serves as a vital link between internal accounting processes and external financial reporting, supporting timely and accurate monthly closes, overseeing the end-to-end financial consolidation process and maintaining strict adherence to public disclosure requirements. The position will leverage advanced analytical capabilities and technology-driven solutions to support automation initiatives and spearhead the development of high quality, transparent management-level reporting. The Financial Reporting Analyst supports management in the strategic planning process by analyzing past results, identifying trends, and assisting in the forecasting of future financial performance. A comprehensive understanding of internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance is essential.

Responsibilities

Internal Accounting:

    Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize the month-end financial close process by standardizing procedures and developing a formal workflow to ensure delivery of timely and accurate results
  • Leverage technology and automation to streamline financial processes and reporting systems
  • Oversee the end-to-end financial consolidation and allocation process across all subsidiaries, legal entities, and business units, which includes proper elimination of intercompany transactions and reconciliation of intercompany balances
  • Manage and maintain the consolidation system including chart of accounts and entity structure
  • Assist in the preparation and/or review of account balance reconciliations, ensuring compliance with internal policies, while optimizing procedures and workflows to support a timely and accurate financial close process
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, statement of shareholders' equity)
  • Support the preparation of segment reporting and legal entity disclosures for SEC filings
  • Monitor compliance with US GAAP consolidation standards (ASC 810)
  • Monitor the design, implementation and operating effectiveness of internal controls applicable to the close and consolidation process, with a focus on Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

Financial Reporting:

  • Drive the development and continual improvement of management-level financial reporting and key performance metrics
  • Collaborate with IT and finance stakeholders to enhance automation and digital reporting solutions
  • Utilize analytical tools to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights to executive leadership
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of quarterly and annual public financial statement releases, including submissions to regulatory agencies and SEC filings, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and other regulatory rules and regulations
  • Identify and help implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls and streamline reporting processes
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of public accounting or financial reporting experience
    CPA or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred
  • Proven experience in financial accounting, consolidation and external reporting, preferably within large, multi-entity financial institutions
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and up-to-date understanding of US GAAP and regulatory reporting regulations
  • Demonstrated expertise in the design, implementation, and assessment of internal controls over financial reporting, with a strong working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements
  • Strong proficiency with financial consolidation and reporting software and advanced Excel skills. Proficiency in SQL strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across teams
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
