Genesis10 is currently seeking a Business Analyst with a Major Financial Services Firm located in Minneapolis, MN or Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract-to-hire opportunity.

Pay range: $45.00 - $50.02 per hour, W2

This position supports the Credit and Home Lending team by performing mortgage underwriting reviews and loan due diligence. The role involves evaluating mortgage loan data and documentation to determine eligibility, acceptability, and compliance with state, federal, and investor guidelines for conventional, non-agency jumbo, and HELOC/HELOAN loan types.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct loan due diligence and underwriting reviews
  • Perform pre and post purchase due diligence reviews including preparing correspondence and deficiency clearing
  • Review mortgage files for exceptions to credit guidelines and document exception summaries
  • Analyze complex tax returns and accurately calculate income
  • Identify key loan factors impacting borrower eligibility, property eligibility, and credit qualification
  • Input data and notes into appropriate loan systems and maintain quality and production standards
  • Effectively communicate decisions to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support credit policy and guideline updates

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting, quality control, and/or due diligence
  • Experience with conventional conforming, Non-Agency Jumbo, HELOC, and home equity loans
  • Ability to work independently, analyze data, and take appropriate actions with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience working with credit guidelines and underwriting standards

Desired skills:

  • Mortgage servicing knowledge, including line management review and subordination requests
  • Experience with property and credit underwriting requirements of agency guidelines
  • Experience contributing to credit policy development
