THE POSITION

The PA Department of Transportation has a current vacancy for a Clerical Assistant 2 in the District Office in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. In this role, the Clerical Assistant 2 will be responsible for clerical and administrative duties while performing as the Maintenance Division Secretary for the Assistant District Executive. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Clerical Assistant 2 will provide clerical services for the Assistant District Executive in the District Office 2-0. These duties include tracking correspondence sent to the Maintenance Division Unit that requires a response to ensure that due dates are met. Prepares and types for signature responses to routine inquiries after researching, gathering, reviewing and selecting the appropriate data for use. This position is required to monitor the Division overtime and track sick leave usage by personnel to identify and refer any apparent problems to the Assistant District Executive. You will be responsible for tracking Legislative and Secretary's letters assigned to the Maintenance Division and ensures that responses are made within the deadlines. In addition, you will serve as training liaison for the Maintenance Division and make recommendations on attendance, as well as discuss training needs with supervisors.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
