The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking for a hardworking, outdoor-driven Game Lands Maintenance Worker 1 to help build and enhance our State Game Lands. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Game Lands Maintenance Worker 1, you will support construction, maintenance, and habitat work in our State Game Lands and public access areas. Work occurs outdoors, uses a variety of heavy equipment and tools, and follows strict safety practices. Duties are performed independently and as part of a team. This includes:
- Maintain Facilities: Keep parking areas, gates, bridges, signs, and public access sites in good working order using tools and heavy equipment
- Operate Equipment: Use power tools, vehicles, farm implements, and snow removal gear to complete daily tasks
- Build Roads and Trails: Construct and repair road surfaces, relief drains, culverts, and multiuse trails for hunters and recreationists
- Help with Habitat Maintenance: Follow all safety regulations and procedures to assist with controlled burns using firefighting equipment as well as apply herbicides and pesticides with proper equipment and protective gear
- Ensure Safety: Assess conditions, wear protective gear, report hazards, and read maps
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position may be eligible for Alternate Work Schedules (AWS).
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of laboring experience using construction tools and equipment; or
- One year of farming experience using agricultural tools and equipment; or
- One year of construction equipment operation experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- You must possess an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
- You must obtain an active Class A Commercial Driver's License within one year of employment in this job.
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
