Description

The Physician Outreach and Marketing Manager will manage the provider relations function for Children's National to include oversight and management of the provider relations staff (including strategic planning, goal setting and implantation of tactics to increase referrals). Will conduct analysis of market and referral data, conduct referring physician research to understand dynamics of referral and to inform physician outreach to strategically address market conditions. Will oversee physician marketing communication efforts to align strategic marketing plans with liaison activity and referring physician needs.

Aligns with the Director, Contact Center as well as the PR&M team to ensure that referring clinicians and organizations are maximally supported with appropriate information and troubleshooting tools. Ensures that all innovations and changes to program offerings at CNH are conveyed through the Provider Relations team through physical visits, e-communications and hard-copy resources.

Tracks team performance, presence in field, feedback from providers internal and external, and monitors "touch points" in salesforce for productivity measures.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Health Admin, Marketing, Communications, or Business (Required)
Master's Degree (Preferred)

Minimum Work Experience
7 years (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge
Proven project management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Proven track record of developing innovative and strategic marketing plans that drive positive outcomes in the digital space.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including AP Style.
Knowledge of MS Office.
Basic experience with video editing and design software.
Ability to display initiative, work autonomously, and offer solutions to problems.
Consistently able to display independent and innovative thinking and assume responsibility for projects.
Displays sound judgment and is able to make independent decisions guided by the business goals of the department and organization.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize workload.
Knowledge of liaison function and referral dynamics in pediatric medicine.
Healthcare marketing strategy and communication experience
Proficiency with Salesforce data entry and visualization

Functional Accountabilities
Provider Relations Management

  • Oversight and management of provider relations staff, including goal setting, territory analysis, and implementation and direction of strategic physician relations marketing plans. Using industry best practice and relevant data, develops best-practice and strategy-led approaches to physician field marketing to maintain and grow referral volume in line with the strategic plan.
  • Lead, manage and monitor liaison activities, reports on monthly and quarterly referral data, seeks opportunities to improve operations and referral volume
  • Drive strategic planning and execution for physician communications and physician field marketing activities. Work with provider relations team and marketing leadership to develop and refine key messaging, to ensure alignment with service marketing plans and physician mar com. Manage implementation of physician liaison related tactics in strategic marketing plans.
  • Tracks and reports on referral data and issue reporting as well as team activity . Relates marketing intelligence and referral trends to hospital leadership
  • Conducts regular meetings with provider relations team to discuss strategy, address questions, relate hospital operational information/news, gauge progress, and troubleshoot as needed.

Data Analysis

  • Using physician relationship management software, manage and track the implementation of strategic physician field marketing plans designed to increase referrals in assigned territories.
  • Utilize market data to understand referral trends and design programs to influence volume.
  • Report research findings to hospital leadership and use findings to inform physician communications/relations activities

Physician Marketing Communication

  • Develop and implement physician field marketing messaging and communication plans aligned with strategic marketing plans and physician field research findings
  • Oversee strategic planning for exhibits to support physicians at key national meetings (includes logistics, booth activities and presentations that optimize opportunities and align with target audience)
  • Develop and implement regular outreach to referring physician population designed to build relationships and bolster referral volume
  • Develop and implement communication programs designed to build relationships and bolster national reputation among peer pediatric sub specialists.

Provider Relations

  • Conduct physician outreach in an assigned territory (including but not limited to office visits, lunch/ride alongs, grand rounds, and pediatric society meetings)
  • Serve as the primary contact in assigned territory to report and assist in the resolution of issues as reported by referring physicians.
  • Provide timely management and tracking for all issues that are brought forward by referring physicians.
  • Align Provider Relations with Contact Center activities to improve coordination and stewardship of provider referrals.
